Some Updates and new ideas

    Sorry for the long delay, but I have been SUPER busy the past couple of weeks. First off, thanks again to Josh for getting the Lacrosse cruise put together, turned out to be a GREAT event. Also, big thanks to the people who raised their hands and actually made it.

    At the meet, I talked a little about having actually club member cards. This will help us be identified as club members to all of our vendors. We have a couple of options as in what style we want to go with. We can also design and print whatever we want on either side. Here are some of the pics.

    Again, we can print whatever we want on them. I will have to do some price checking, but I think we will be able to get the 3 card version for about $3. That would be 2 key tags and 1 business card. I need to make a couple of calls to verify price vs quantity, but it will be pretty close to that.


    At the lacrosse cruise, I talked to a couple of people about some new ideas for some merchadise. The fold lawn chairs (bag chairs) was brought up, some usb thumb drives, key chains, hats, and some other clothing items. I guess at this point in time, we NEED to get the t-shirts done and we should probably start on the hoodies for this winter. If we get started on those now, we might have something once it gets cold out.:hsugh: I guess I am also looking for some more ideas. What does everyone want?? I did some digging and found some thumb drives that we could probably get into fo 10-15 dollars (1gb) with some kinda of custom printed logo. again, there are tons of options on sizes, colors, designs, we just need to figure out what we want to have made. The bag chair idea that Josh brought up is a killer idea. Since we all hang out at firestone with chairs now, we might as well be sporting some MNSubaru chairs. We might want to start piecing a 2008 calander together now (Scuba Steve?).

    Upcoming Meets. Well, I am working on trying to get a rallyfest going so we can check out some rallycars. I know that Morries BP is looking to have another cookout like last fall. Another Duluth cruise (Justin?). More ice races (Rich?). Couple of fall fun runs (Bikerboy?). Shop night (Nate?). Ecu/tuning 101 night (anyone/anyplace?). I guess if anyone has any other ideas about when/where, get them posted up.

    Our new forum. We opened a tech/tips/newb area. It is going to be a place to do some searching for information (Taras and Tux, that means you). Currently posting and replying is turned off. You can still post, but they need to be approved before they will show up. We would like to keep the threads VERY on topic. Meaning if we get a "looks good" post, it will be deleted. We ara also looking for some people to step up and do some write ups.

    I guess that is about it for now. If any of the mods have anything they want to add, post up. So lets hear it, what looks good, sounds good, should be something that we work on. Again, this club is about it's members, so lets get some ideas and have some fun.

    I am looking forward to the upcoming events. You're familar with what I can offer, let me know where I can help. I would eventually like to get a group of committed drivers and do some track events. I wonder if TintMasters or any other vendors we have here would do an event closer to the Cities, nothing too competitive, maybe like a tuning day or something. I would be every interested.

    I hope everyone here is liking the idea...I myself feel that this is a step forward to other future growth for this site and its members (Represent'in). It is a small upgrade, but every wave starts with a ripple...and we hope to continue to 3rd, 4th gear etc...;) Thanks nate for that example

    im not sure if youve already done this, but i say as far as shirts go, we have had the polls open for a week or two now and while not a whole heck of alot of us have actually voted on them, we might as well go with the winning votes on both the front and back and just get them made.
    (wasnt someone doing this already?)
    Do we have actual designs ready to be printed yet?
    and if no one else is getting them printed, i could always do it. :)

    It went to a colors vote which just finished I believe. We are all a little new to getting stuff done and balancing other loads so things have been moving a little slow.

    wow, I like all the organization. But if we do ever get into "5th gear" could we just stop there so I don't feel left out

    I'm working on the designs, I've been pretty busy so I haven't been able to get them done as fast as I'd like. But it's very close. I just need to stop working on the house and spend a night working on the shirt design.

    I'll get the design done and then talk with mlgez and russ about printing them up. Sounds like Russ knows a few places, but if it's something you can do maybe you and Russ can work something out.

    Looking good. The card idea is solid. Having the little key fob tags is great cuase having the large credit card style thigns gets annoying.

    could we do something alitle more hefty. They have those STi key chains at teh dealership which are just big pieces of steel with STi prined on them. could we do something like that but with MNSubaru on it or something? it would be more $$ but i woulb be willing to pay more for it. it will hold up to more abuse and looks cooler then a little carboard thing. maybe a GB on some custom printed things that have mnsub on one side and your SN on the other?

    It is very cool that we have events which are being repeated every year it its giving us a consistant calendar and makes it easier to plan going on a trip if you know it will happen.

    There was a good turn out at the MTKA drive in meet, so I will try and organize another one of those for sometime in the fall.

    Bump back to the top.

    Lets get some ideas going. How about some designs for the membership cards. The big card is 3 3/8 wide and 2 1/8 high. The smaller card is 2 5/8 wide and 1 1/8 high. Lets get some designs going for those. I can been contacted by a couple of people about getting them done so it will be easier to keep track of MNS members.

    For the card idea we should just take the design from our first shirt or our current shirt and just update it everytime we change those. Would already have the design, but if for some reason it doesn't fit we can just modify it a little but take the same general idea

    As far as Lawn Chairs go, I think we should stick with the classic blue and then on the back have an outline of MN with a suby in it and MNSubaru below it. Simple and plain. Do it in yellow or white so it sticks out against the blue. I know the blue and yellow theme is old but its a classic and what most people associate with subaru so I say we stick with it unless other people can post up some serious ideas and designs.
