I don't quite know where it happened, because i spent a lot of time parking in areas where i wasn't in a position to view the right side, but i was shocked to see this when I went to do my rear speakers after all the snow had melted...

I really didn't need this right now - it will be at least a month before I can afford to fix it, and I have no idea where to go, either. This really sort of, well .. it sucks. :mercy:

I didn't have to back into anything, i barely slid around at all while I was out, and I didn't get too close to anyone when I was in parking lots. I parked well out of the way of people. I didn't hit any snowbanks or anything - and there is damage on the left side on the bumper too - like it was scraped. I just don't know how it happened, I know *I* didn't do it. :(

Anyone have an estimate as to how much this is going to cost me to be repaired? I really didn't want to do any body work right now .. AARGH!!

Ouch, thats why I don't trust other people at all!

I wouldn't think it would cost too much but I'm not a body man.

I bet it'd be more then your insurance deductible (provided it's less then $1000), and I'm sure it would be covered under comprehensive.

rear taillight, rear panel / paint, possibly bumper repair / paint... Not sure if the gas cap is messed up.

1,500+ is a good ballpark if you goto a regular shop.

or, track down the parts on e-bay and give sprockets a call for the paint ((tell brent I sent you, and tell him what you need the paint for.. theres a nice little mnsubaru discount there for you))... and have a friend put them on. should save you some cash.

Yeah - the gas cap is fine - it's just the strangest line I've ever seen.
Would need bumper replaced as something happened on the other side too - not sure if it was the same guys or not ... didn't think I had *that* many enemies

but the paint is ripped off the bumper in some spots so that will have to be replaced too. I will talk with the insurance company today. :emo:

i cant stand people who do hit and runs! grow some balls and own up, honestly. A buddy who i work with has a truck and his tailgate got owned in a parking lot when he was away from it for 5 MINUTES!! people suck. Sorry to hear about it man. Check car-part.com. It links all the junkyards in the countrytogether and they have every part imaginable. Good luck with the fix

Judging by the height of the scrapes, I'd say it was a soccer mom driving a SUV of some sort.

It IS the passenger side :) How much for the tail light?

I need to fix that little bar under it too, I was thinking I could just ... finagle it back into place ...

^ is the taillight for a wagon? IIRC the impreza wagons (GF) have different tails than the sedan/coupe (GC/GM).

Well if you got one, let me know!! I would love you forever...

I know it looks like a sedan, the picture is very decieving .. but it IS a wagon. I'll have to bring it to firestone and then you all can laugh at me while I check out everyone else's nice rides ..

AGH I hate this crap! Stupid people! ARGH! The insurance co said they can't pay for much of it and I gotta file a claim. *grumble*
but meh, I can have fun with it ... I was thinking of doing black front & back bumpers, but maybe this is just an excuse to get all the paint redone :(

*sheesh .. for someone who has such bad luck, I'm still pretty happy. Maybe I should be less happy - and then bad things will stop happening ... *

Total the vehicle out?? Are you kidding....no way. I smashed mine up last year and caused over $6000 in damages, insurance covered it all, 4 new rims, 4 new tires, new subframe, tie rod ends, suspension front and rear, ball joints all the way around ... i forgot what else. I smashed into a curb, no one else hit me...

dude, it wouldnt take much to total it out, a new 1/4 panel costs around 500 bucks, figure labor at 100 bucks an hour, paint, your well into the 2g mark, no offense but the car probably isnt worth a ton more then that, and neither is mine

^Ditto, for those of us with Ls, it doesnt take much to total out the car because the book value is so low due to high miles and older years. all you wrx people have higher resale values and what not so it is harder to total a newer car.
