I do not know if this is coincidence or what but, since I went toa BP station by a friends house that had 92octane 0 ethenol and filled from empty to full, the next day, my car has suddenly started acting up.

When i go full throttle or a bit less, basicly around +5 or more on my stock boost guage, my boost surges and then drops. so wide open it surges to very close to 20 on my boost guage which it never got that high, and then drops and surges again.

I am invidia up, cobb catted down, spt intake and Wall of TVs tuned for about 17psi in 3rd (pre intake). I checked hoses. belts are a bit old, planning on replacing them this week, hoping to install cobb lightened crank pulley actualy.

Any ideas? should i drive gimp till I get someone to take a look?

Check all of your boost control hoses, especially the one that goes to the wastegate actuator.

i checked the hoses as best as an idiot can check, seemed ok, got on the road, things seemed ok, got on highway, seemed ok, went further down the highway and hit gas again and it started surging again., so to about.13 or .14 on my guage, vs i was normaly maxed and stable at .11ish.

ya i dunno about the gas, ill go start adding some other gas next. maybe a dealership will have an idea, wanna get stuff from brian soon.

I seriously doubt it's the gas.

Yeah, other then boost control getting disabled by a really bad tank of gas, what gas you put in shouldn't affect your boost.

Could be a combo of the lower ambient temps (unsure as to what temps it was tuned in), along with the SPT intake. Those changes can really mess up the WGDC and IAT comp tables.

    well.
    i'm tuned on 92 bp.
    i'll knock on 92 shell.
that said, i dont think gas is your problem.
    check the intake, make sure;
#1 it's the correct diameter maf housing.
    #2 it's not loose.
#3 all your bits an parts in the return BPV, and blowby lines are still connected.

    I disagree.

I have gotten bad gas twice, once in my 6R and once in my SHO, and both times it was incapacitating. It does happen.

Given that your car started running poorly after filling up, I'd say it was the gas.

Bad gas has absolutely NOTHING to do with boost surge.

But he did say that he checked his hoses. So, ruling that out, it's the one variable that was changed (unless it is just a coincidence).

I thought you were coming from "Bad gas doesn't happen", which is what Fat Bastard always says...
