someone decides to stop and pull a u turn on the highway when everyone else is doing 70. caused a chain reaction of 5 cars including me luckily(?) i was the as end leaving me with only front end damage (hood bumper headlights radiator). all it needs to drive is a radiator. what im asking is, is anything wrong (or lacking) in a stock one that i should maybe upgrade now that it is out and needs replaced. and anyone with parts(horn headlights[little things up front]) that are taking space in their garage can shoot me a pm and a price 2004 wrx 2.0 psm who knew chets car was cursed? haha
Just get a Mishimoto Aluminum radiator. I just put one in my 02 bugeye. The fit was great, and it was only like 75 bucks more than the stock ones I was looking at.
i like my gimmick one how ever in the winter on really cold days the huge alum radiator and e85 played hinkey with my coolant temps so i needed to make a air damn with some cardboard. just a fyi on my experience with the alum radiator.
what is the difference between the two? ready mix i laugh at myself every morning because of it and cry myself to sleep every night because of it
An aluminum radiator is an aluminum radiator. There's really no difference. Not entirely sure where e85 is going to make a difference in coolant temps. I've never honestly noticed any difference. The problem, if you will, is that the solid aluminum radiator is going to be more efficient at radiating heat from the coolant system. When you are doing 65 down the freeway in 10 degree weather, your engine may not be able to maintain consistant heat because the radiator is shedding too much of it. This is especially an issue when running a cooler t-stat along with it. With the engine unable to maintain coolant temps, your fuel economy begins to suffer. And you also begin to suffer because your in cabin heating is provided by coolant temps.
so stick with a stock one? this is my daily and winter driver so that seems to make more sense then any difference i hoses? i see silicone hose kits that range in price up to $50 or some dollars
I live my mishimoto only few bucks more than the stock one. I would go that route. also I am very sorry to hear you are driving chets car...I wish you the best of luck.
motor seems good on it....... p.s. where do you see the mishimoto for a few bucks more. i see a stock online for 175 and a mishimoto at thmotorsports for 250. anything on hoses? better materials or upgrades? or are they all the same?
I guess I consider 75 dollars to only be a few bucks when it comes to car parts, I threw my wallet down that deep dark hole a long time ago.
also is there a good place to buy subaru body parts? i will definitely need a hood a bumper cover headlights just hoping to find a cheaper spot without sacrificing quality. is dealership best with our discount?
http://www.importimageracing.com/c/radiators-wrx-sti.html email Josh and ask for his best price shipped, he usually knocks down the price a bit, especially if you buy multiple items from him.
