after all the fun, eventually you'll hit a curb...and yah my time has come....some ice were hidden on snow, cause understeer, to avoid hitting the curb head on, i ebrake..the rear came around and banged the curb. front wheel is bent, bent a rear strut, and some other htings, i replaced the shock, the front wheel, but my rear wheel is still slanted.....any idea on whats left? im think its the lateral links and etcc...

sounds like you did exactly what i did... but my strut was the only thing bent...i would think your lower controll arm(s) are f-ed up if you replaced your strut...and you probably need an alighnment (me too still)

hit it with the tire! better a tire pop then break or bend metal!

    Tim

and yes i know it can still happen even if your tire takes the brunt of the force

Check the Event thread, you'll notice there are events coming up soon. You just can't wait for those event eh. Besides, you know that we do a few night runs... why take the chance when you can wait for those dark, dark night out with us and show us some skills when we hit some open space ;) this winter.

Oh well... you live, you loose money in the process and hopefully you've learned the lesson... and that lesson is... you play, you gotta pay.

    Good luck with the car.

it was in an empty parkinglot, i was going no more than 15mph. In the process of hitting the curb, i was going about 5-10mph.

pwned! i am kinda surprised you did so much dmg going so slow. i would not have expected a bent wheel / strut, maybe some heavy curbage and a bad alignment.

new tip: stay in middle of parking lot! lol

The first things that would bend is the wheel and strut. After that, you've got the control arms. Maybe sway bar???

it would take a bit to bend a sway bar, since they are just held up by the crappy plastic/rubber endlinks

I already that, awd is awd, but its basically like any other car when its sliding on ice helplessly. anyways, you guys aren't helping, suppose to give me ideas on what else is causing my rear wheel to slant(positive camber).

Rear wheel slanted could be lower control arm bent, strut bent, etc. Just gotta take it apart and look. Heh, 5mph + over 2500lbs + curbstop = WILL bend ****.

Legacy struts are different from Imprezas, thats probably why it looks bent.

Should save $$ and order AGX or some coilovers.

Now you will learn to stay away from curves. I bet everyone here has hit a curb before and f-uped... I flew over one but thats a different story  . Its better if you learn from others stupidity than yours but that is easier said than done

Yea, the sway bar was probably OK because you have stock endlinks. Good upgrade though, +3mm!!! Just that lower control arm/lateral link is bent after the tab mount for the bottom end link.

Went snowbanking once with a friend in his '69 Satelite. After three or four side swipes into the 10' high snowbanks in the parking lot of UMD we noticed a distinct draft coming from the back. Upon further analysis we noticed that the trunk and rear seat had broken away from the car and were lying in the ground. We got a nice view of the rear axle and pumpkin but it was a chilly ride home.
