neat.....it actually does slip. I know it isn't broken in yet. Impressions: * soft pedal feel: must be a softer pressure plate. makes me wonder if it is the same one they use for the stg 1 they have. * clutch dics: this kevlar disc looks weak. the stuff looks like cardboard paper....would this actually hold up to AWD launches, track time?? looks cool....but could be decieving...... * throwout bearing: this sucks.....the bastard is f-n NEW!! It sqeaking on me after a 10min drive WTF?!?!? it like little birds tweeting at me....then they go away if I press the clutch pedal. The sound even changes to a higher pitch if I just press it likely. Best part is I can make music out of it! * OVERALL IMPRESSION: right now, yes it totally susks DUDE!!! My Exedy stg1 wasn't like this when i put it in....WTF??? makes me wanna pull it outright now. At this point I'm seriously considering the ACT stg1.... but where's the $$$?? *SIGH* I'll put more miles on this and see what adventures i'll encounter.
what I'm thinking is the pressure plate they're using is not good. The pedal feel isn't even as stiff as my Exedy stg1.
For sure I'm not buying another Spec...I do not like the feel and I'm thinking it is the pressure plate as well...
didn't i tell you about the silver rs that came up from arkansas. his stage 2+ clutch is slipping like crazy with less then 2k miles on it :O choung
Fuji, I have a SPEC Stage 2 and my pedal feel was a little stiffer over stock. Remember alot of people have had problems when they use ACT stage 2 and so on with the fork cracking. Anyways, i beat on mine pretty good for the first 4 days that my swap ran last fall, and when i pulled all apart the kevlar material looked like it was holding up just fine, mind you, the motor saw quite a bit of abuse in those 4 days, no launches though, tranny won't hold up to that real well. I am happy with mine, let it break in and then decide what your impression on it is. Good luck!! -Matt
act ftw. after my stock clutch dies, i'l throw a act in there. i haven't used any other clutches, but my friends and i have never had problems w/ act clutches so i cant complain.
