anyone know the spec on the stock stereo.....how many watts of power......and also if you have the Subaru AMP/Subwoofer underneath the seat.....how much does it total. I am thinking about an aftermarket unit...........vs. Stock w/ sub.
Prolly 15w rms. the stock unit is definately a weak link in the audio chain, worse than the speakers I'd say. A aftermarket HU will sound so much better, upgrade the speakers and you will be very happy.
Seriously the stock head unit is the single worst part of the system, I took the 6 disc out, hoping to get something a little better before i replace the speakers, and honestly I'm happy with the sound quality now out of the stock speakers, I may change them down the road, I may not, I'm sure the sound would be even better, but really I'm pretty happy with it now. I also added a 12 inch sub in the mix, and EQ most all the bass of the factory speakers, until I really start pushing it, it sounds great.
