Just a heads up to everyone. The police seem to be out thicker then flies on **** right now. Not sure if it's because of the end of the fiscal year for them or what. 2 of my coworkers got tickets today. One of them I was in the car with them when it happened. I've seen more people pulled over today then I think I ever have. I started setting the cruise control everywhere I go. I'm sure they'll be out hardcore like this until Aug 1 (beginning of the new fiscal year).
good thing for rush hour traffic where I'll be lucky if I'm going 20 under. hell, even moving is something
 I see @ least two people pulled over every morning on 94 and White Bear...usually one going E and one going W.
on my way home from uptown the other night i saw 12-14 people pulled over on 94 and 694, i hope they stop soon cuz im now paranoid when im not doing anything wrong haha
dude..im in uptown right now..i haven't seen any cops yet *knock on wood* looks like im cruising on 494 to get to mound tonight...
I saw three motorcycle cops with radar guns and two highway patrol cars on my way to work this morning. All of them were in speed-trap mode on the side of the hghway. They must be hurting for revenue.
Yea I say a few out this evning after work....why cant they just go back to the coffee N Doughnut shops and chill why we have fun driving our cars....?????? :ugh: I need to get the crap cleaned out ot if....
94 is pretty bad from Uptown to Brooklyn Center, both ways. It's my commute to work, and everytime I see at least one person pulled over. I've gotten two tickets on that stretch in the last year... really need to start using the cruise control.
there was 16 cop cars in uptown last night along with a helicopter cause there was a big ass police chase down hennipen last night heh
police chase down hennepin? wtf were they doing like 10 mph? what was wrong with, I donno, cutting off the person and stopping them before it got out of hand?? It can't be that hard .. considering you can't move more than 2 ft without encountering a light on that damn road. And the traffic. UGH. and why did they need the heli??
my lunch break seemed very clear, I drove all over town and maybe saw 2 squads total parked getting gas and coffe. (I live in St Cloud) lolz.
Bloomington at 98th and 35 was clear, 35 to 13 was clear, 13 to 169 clear,169 to Lions park clear. Playing some disc and saw a local swing by the parking lot a couple times. Got a KA on the way home by Heritage Links Golf Course but didn't see a county in sight and he def didn't come after me.
Unmark Impalas black and tan that goes up and down 52 everyday. 4 state troop and tow trucks on the corner of hwy52 and 7th st everyday around 1pm till 5. Hidden cops with rader gun on 7th st from duluth st to payne.
they are bored, revenue is down, they need something to take the stress off  seriously though..it was dangerous they were easily going about 60 down henn.
There are speed limits. Obey them and you won't get in trouble. Very simple. Speed at your own risks. They want your $$$.
I usually never speed and they always seem to pull me over whether it be for tint, exhaust no front plate etc... they will always find something.
Drove my buddy's 480 whp del sol today on 61...my god that thing is incredibly fast...top of third and the speedo was past 120 mph. It has some pretty crappy low end torque though haha. I only really got it to the top of 4th gear before I almost crapped my pants.
Quick bump for those of you who drive 100 everyday like I do. Robbensdale cops have been out thick near 36th Ave N. They're hiding behind the trees and shrubs. Tricky little bastards.
Must transmit 50% or more light thru the window. Keep in mind that most glass will block 5% - 10% of the light already.
I think the increased Police is coz of the Labor Day, If i remember correctly, there was postings on the highway about increased DWI watch thru labor day.
Thanks to some people derailing this thread, I've renamed it so we can stay ON TOPIC. Please keep this thread to talking about speed traps or increased enforcement (such as window tint in Eden Prairie). If you want to bitch about cops please start a different thread.
now that I see this thread, I want to mention that theres usually a trap in the White Bear shopping center on Lyndale and 90th in Bloomington. He usually is pointing his gun north checking southbound traffic. This is between the hours of 8:30am and 4:30pm when Im at work. Not sure about evenings.
Well the one I've seen quite often is the one on US-10, south of County Road 96 in the Arden Hills Area, usually at night like after sunset and before sunrise, he'll be sitting there where the road goes down the hill before going up to 694 with no lights on so he's hard to see.
I've seen a ton of extra cops out on 494N/S lately. Got pulled over myself for speeding on the 394 frontage road last night leaving the park and ride at cr73. Apparently it's a posted 20mph? Didn't know that.
i saw a desparate cop parked almost vertical on one of those hills that form next to overpasses trying to tag people i lol'ed i shoulda taken a picture of it
Did you look for a sign to verify that? Seems slow, I would've never thought it was 20 there. If you can find a sign near there that's over 20 I'd snap a pic and fight the ticket. I often see them doing this on 94 west heading out from Mpls.
It's a fairly blind corner, I wouldn't be surprised. I asked the officer if that was a recommended speed on a yellow sign or the posted speed, and he said it was posted. Also, what ticket?
Saw 3 different troopers yesterday on 94 between the 694/94 merge and 101. Also, saw one on 35w on the corner just north of the University/4th St exit - they are there very occasionally, but enough so that I peek around the corner when I come south on my way home from work every day. Seems like they're really out this weekend.
FYI- EP is out in full force. I noticed two traps on highway 5 this morning on the way to work. One under the highway 5 prairie center drive bridge and the other under the 494/highway 5 bridge. It's a construction zone so ticket prices I'm sure would be real high!!
Look out near cannon falls and and near the hampton area. That's usually where I notice them the most......
please only post places you've seen traps. NOT your personal experiences. Ryan already gave this warning once.
After 8m starting a few days ago through the holiday. on Archade, next to Phalen golf course by the church that holds the park and ride fair lot. There has been a trooper parked off to the side of the road with all his lights off waiting for people to come over the hill speeding.
sry tonyM. around larpenteur and 35e (heading towards church xbrian just mentioned). i've seen same cop in suv waiting on side street earlier. i've seen a few ppl pulled over the past couple of days. don't go above 35mph (it's tempting because larpenteur is a big street).
You're so right. He'd have to be desperate to want to get out of the way of traffic. Just a heads up, they're really out in the west Metro area this weekend and concentrating on traffic stops. I wouldn't have any lights out or be drinking behind the wheel if you're going to drive around here.
This. I was out doing some running around this morning and the cops are hiding all over the place. I'd recommend using the cruise control, staying at or under the speed limit, not driving like a retard, and plan extra travel time going anywhere. **hint hint shibbs**
