This mornings shut down was for a security update and a new search engine install. As most of you know, the stock VB4 search, pretty much sucks balls. It is slow and doesn't really return what you are looking for. Hopefully with the new sphinx engine I have fixed both of those issues. I have definitely fixed the speed issue. With 600k+ posts, blogs, messages, etc, sphinx will index that whole site in under 5 min. Now the site will regenerate the whole index once a week and will add all new posts to the current index every 5 minutes (actually on the 5 min mark or 12 times a hour). As for the better results, we will see. But with my initial testing it looks pretty damn good and leaps and bounds better than the stock system.
