so tonight, after testing the spt throught the end of the summer and through the winter... I removed it today and put back on the stock intake. I figure I have sufficiant testing time to now go back to stock to see if I notice a power gain, gas mileage.. all the other goodies. The butt dyno definatly feels a huge gain going back to stock. could be the ecu reset, or that the tuning is setup to better assist stock... but i'll give you a better opinon after a month of driving stock again. I do miss the turbo noises allready tho...
I'm surprised it took you that long. I felt it right away, dyno verified it and sold it the next day.
i'm sure i'll need a few tanks to get the car to adjust to it again on the ecu reset... but now today while getting on the freeway I was able to give it a quick run up.. and noticed the car didn't pull as hard. So i'm going to cycle about 3 tanks through, and give it a dyno run stock.. then re-install the spt, do the same.. dyno run. I think the spt intake is fine, it just needs to be tuned.
yeah. I took my spt intake off and put my stock back on too....I seem to notice a difference..........I'm still keepin it though becuz im gonna put it back on when i go tune it
I now fully believe it's a device that requires a tune with the sti. It may not be so with other models... and I can't say 100% as I don't have the logs to prove it.. but something is definatly sque. I too will be holding onto it for a tune.
I'd be curious to see what you find. I installed the SPT intake in Jan on my '06 WRX and I'm torn as to whether it helps or hurts... The only other thing I have is the SPT catback, and I haven't gotten it turned so yeah, I'd be curious to see your results.
