So i currently have a SPT on my 2010 sedan and i was wondering if it would be worth to upgrade to the q300 the 2.5 to 3 inch? whats the noise level difference? anyone have one i could possibly hear in person?

I had both, but it was on a hatch. I am very happy with my Q300. I really don't think you could go wrong with that move. Most of the upgrade is going to be sounds and looks. However you will allow more room for your engine to breath, I don't think power gains will be very noticable at your current level.

right i agree, i heard you take off kind of over my exhaust. hard to tell though. and part of it is noise. I'm not gonna be driving it as a DD anymore so noise isn't as big of deal for quite as it once was.

I have the Q300 on my 05 STI and really like it. The exhaust looks almost stock but it sounds much nicer. The Q300 is not very loud but opens up nicely under WOT.

FYI - the Q300 for the 08+ hatch is much, much different than the Q300 for the GD. The GD series looks exactly like stock and is pretty quiet - very nice if that's what you're going for.
The Q300 for the 08+ hatch looks a bit more aggressive (if you have an 08-10 wrx hatch, I believe you will need to trim your rear bumper as it is a quad tip. 08+ STi hatch and 11+ WRX hatch you're fine). and is one of the louder aftermarket exhausts. Also very nice, if that's what you're going for.

Sedan Q300 is different then hatch. Also I have a quad tip. Your options are dual tip or single exit.

I have a 2011 sedan with a Q300 installed. I'll be hanging with the NF crew on Tuesday evening if you want to hear it at WOT.

Unlike the 08+ Hatch Q300, the sedan version is pretty quiet.

They don't make a quad tip for your year in Sedan. It is just the single exit or dual tip that are made to "fit"

OK so thanks to d I got to hear the q300. And it was almost to no cabin noise! Which was very nice. But I might need to go louder. Anyone have a n1 on a gd?

I'm seriously considering selling my Perrin stealth exhaust. It's powder coated black with dual 4" tips. Let me know if there is any interest.
