    I'm seriously debating whether or not I even want to start plugging money into mine to go stage 2 and add the suspension bits I had planned. It might make more sense to just trade up.

    i highly doubt these are pics of the sti. subaru is being VERY VERY secretive with the 09 STi.

    that's odd. I thought they were going to be releasing the new sti late this year. Are they still doing that and just calling it an '09 or what? I haven't really been following all of this that closely.

    I'd take one.

    I think its a big improvement, you'll all be singing a different tune once you see them in person.

    however i will not take an 08 WRX.

    I don't know, I still think a lot of you guys are going to end up eating crow on the '08s just like when the '06-'07s came out.

    I know not all are converts of the hawkeye and are sticking to their guns, but I think the general consensus is that they're pretty sex.

    I've always been a sucker for a hatchback though, so I'm actually pretty partial to the '08s. Sti AND base... but especially the Sti.

    I'm not singing the 06-07 tune, so I don't know what you're getting at. The 06-07 never grew on me. The front end is too swoopy and rounded compared to the boxy rear and midsection of the car. The lines on the 04 hood matched the lines on the WRX rear wing perfectly. And the headlights for 04 were, of the 3, a good match for the boxy nature of the body.

    I do like the 08 better than the 06-07. I don't like the WRX sedan at all for 08, but the hatch is nice...even though it looks just like a Mazda3. But the Mazda3 is a good looking car in hatch form. If Subaru flares the fenders like the test mule pics indicate, then the 08 STi will be fine in my book. And as much as I like them, I doubt seriously those wheels will be on the actual production car.

    08 will be nice i think...i want to see how the 08 evo compares to the 09 sti...both with the smg style gearboxes...and what they can take...might make a great track car or drag car :)

    hopefully they get overdrive right this time and make it so you can get decent gas mileage while traveling at speed :)

    I'd be willing to bet that's STi add-on parts for the WRX, not an actual STi. Or will they be sticking with STI again ?

    Everything I've read has said the STI will be released March of 2008 as the 2008 STI.

    We'll see for sure what the STI will look like in September when it's unveiled at the Frankfurt auto show.
