Just in case those of you in St. Cloud hadn't noticed it, on Sept 7, there's going to be a RallyCross in Pease, MN, which is about 45 minutes from downtown St. Cloud. http://mnsubaru.com/forums/showthread.php?t=27069 This is the farthest north we'll be running this year, so it's an ideal location for the people who feel like they live too far north of most of our events.
The best seat on the site is in your car competing!! Almost everyone who decides to watch their first rallycross is mad they didn't race!!! I know from experience! We do have loner helmets... Brent just another local RallyCross pusher :wavey:
okay....and they obviously hand them out AT the event. I don't have to go pick it up somewhere.. so sorry for the newb questions folks....I appreciate that you haven't beat me up yet...save that for the track
Yeah, they keep them near the start line I think. You take it for your run, then give it back after your run so someone else can use it if needed.
If you can swing the money I would buy one. The many years of sweating in them doesn't make for a pleasant experience.
Oh it's not that bad. At least not last time I used one. which was 5+ years ago. Which were the same helmets, I think... Next time the club (SCCA-LoL) buys helmets, we should get M-rated helmets with removable, and more importantly washable, liners.
Not unbearable but not pleasant. I also know that Dave will be attending many more events after he gets a taste of this one. The rallitis sickness continues. Mark gave it to Amy who gave it to me and now I'm proud to say I've passed it along to Dave and Sara. Possibly even Sheen has a touch of the sickness as well.
Ah yeah, Sheen DOES have the rally sickness. Remember he puked on the way home I finally broke down and cleaned the car today, still a bit dirty though. However, now there's soo much rally dirt in my shop vac that everytime I turn it on now it sounds like compressor surge, bov's screaming, and the rasp of exhaust. I think i need to see the doctor:eek3::laugh:
Helmets: any place in the Minneapolis area to pick one up on Saturday? I need something to do since I'm down there anyway, might as well be productive
I recommend Joe's Cycle on the north frontage road of hwy 36 just east of Rice St. Good selection and prices. Make sure you buy a Snell M or SA rated helmet.
