Just curious as I have been running my Stage 2 tune with my accessport...

What is the expected boost output with this setup? I am currently running roughly 14-14.5 PSI with my TBE, UP as my only performance mods... I think before the AP I was roughly running 9-10 PSI according to the OEM turbo gage. Does this seem right? I am more just asking for food-for-thought...

I am very pleased with the powerband difference throughout from running the Stage 2!!! I definitely feel myself sink into my seat quite a bit more! ;)

Still just learning more and more about the car and love the information on this site!

You should be seeing ~16psi in 4th gear; that's what target boost is to.

Have you used the "live boost" feature of the AP to check your boost levels? It's much more accurate than the OEM gauge.

^^Agreed. It depends on what gear you're in. I believe 4th and 5th gears have the highest boost; 3rd almost as high, maybe off by .5-1psi; 2nd is even lower; and 1st gear is even even lower, maybe around 9-10 psi as you've reported.

Ah, that makes sense... I didn't realize that different gears boosted at different levels! I remember checkin on the AP throughout 3rd gear, but usually after that point I was going at above posted speed limits! :)

So I will keep ya posted as I go through 4th and 5th to see the boost readings... Thanks for the advice guys!

P.S. I figured the OEM gage wasn't as accurate as my AP... (it looks cool though) ;) It actually does a pretty good job inbetween -8 to +8 PSI but past that it doesn't read the extremes! Oh yeah and it only goes to 15 PSI!!!

stock gauge 15 psi are you sure you don't mean .15 MPa which is 21.76 psi?

Sounds like you gauge it fubared, I think you can take a boost reading off the accessport can't ya?

whoops missed that this was already pointed out

He's probably just reading it wrong. I think almost everyone is confused when they first start looking at the stock gauge. Yes, he can read boost on the AP, but it's pain trying to read that thing while at WOT.

    this should help...

lol, you're reading .15 bar, not 15 psi.

.15 bar is higher than 15 psi.

You can get an omori 47mm boost gauge that reads in psi that will fit in your factory gauge mounting. It goes up to 25 psi.

    <----- Retard!!!

    LMAO at myself!!!

I did use the AP and that read about 14 PSI in 3rd gear, but I just haven't read the boost in 4th or 5th yet through the AP... BUT I will have to say that I am a retard and was reading the stock boost gage as PSI and not MPa... (shakes head) Thanks for the clarification!

What is MPa anyway? I suppose I could look it up, but I'm lazy...

    Scuba, thanks for the chart...

Thanks for the idea esperunit! Does the omori boost gage look pretty sharp?

also comes in WRX look with green with either a yellow needle (pre 04) or red needle (post 04). You can fit their 45mm boost gauge into the stock lamco boost gauge pod and even reuse the wiring, its a simple install. you just lube up a screwdriver and slowly work out the old gauge and lube up the new one and work it back into the rubber housing.

I'm planning on adding this to my car soon as well as an omori EGT and omori Oil pressure gauge

oh and MPa stands for megapascals.

I read 14 PSI on my accessport... Not my MPa guage... I only read roughly .10 on that guage! ;)

    My engine is still here!!!
