Okay, don't give me tooooo much crap for this. The video illustrates how strange I became while patiently waiting in the woods for the stage to start:laugh:....:ugh: I was excited! Kinda dark, but look closely and you can see some red rotors as they fly by. Turn up the volume (after my blah blah) for the lovely car sounds as they flight through the woods at night:yumyum:
How did you get out of the woods in the dark? Was there a car to pick you guys up after the event was over? I really wanted to go but could not get a day off work.
As a worker you get to drive your own car.....mine was parked on the side of the road. that's the benefit of working...get to drive the course countless times. :yumyum:
search button NEWB!!!!!!!!!!!!!! http://mnsubaru.com/forums/showthread.php?t=27482 I said that once we have all the videos pics up from the event I'll combine them to make one....
Not really, more scared of the voices in my head:ugh: The stumpy "wilson" footage was cut from the video, it was a bit tooooo much even for me:biggrin: it was windy that night, very little bugs.
i love the fact that while in the wods you can hear mark coming for miles and know its him just from the sound! i have experienced this may times!
It makes me smile every time I hear/read comments like this. It is one of the main reasons I enjoy running this car and more importantly, this sport.
While true, with his new found torque and love of 4th gear, it is quite a bit quieter now than in times past. With the old motor you could hear Mark/Jim coming and once they got a bit closer you could tell if it was the ford or the chevy, but the v8's definitely stand out in the crowd. Russ
i love it when those two and colin mcleery are in a rally. we get a nice V8 battle going. however, colin's looses the sound contest compared to mark and jim.
yeah, everytime I heard the roar of that V8 ripping through the woods the hairs on the back of my neck would stand up. It's truly an incredible sound! Mark I don't even know you besides a few hands shakes here and there, but man I have to tell you.....everytime I see you behind the wheel I go nutz....you truly are the local hero!
I'm not sure if it was the LT1/LS1 change, or an exhaust change (I feel like the cats aren't the last thing in the chain anymore, and there are glasspacks back there now?), but Jim's truck is waaaay quieter these days. Too bad, really.
It depends on if you're talking rally trim or RallyCross trim... He adds his mufflers on for the RallyCross events... Should we tell him to leave them off??!! It doesn't really holler until the revs get over 3k and that doesn't happen too much in RallyCross. And, the exhaust is very restrictive on it. Replacing it IS on the to-do list.
Thank you very much. I'm not much on being a hero. However, if I can serve as a good role model of someone that is passionate about the sport that has raced on his own terms, with a lot of help from my friends, I am proud to be that guy. As I have said many times, anyone can have the results I have acheived if you commit over 20 years to motorsports. Seat time is EVERYTHING.
