Well for these last two super cold days, I have been driving and all of a sudden the steering basically goes out, Becomes very hard to turn and the wheels try to straighten out. I would think the power steering is going out but the fact that it makes no difference how fast i am going, the steering is still hard to turn almost harder when traveling at a faster speed. Anybody have any clues or ideas. It is just strange that the steering goes out for about 10-30 seconds. Then it comes back. I am lost on this, any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Shaun
Tried swapping out the power steering fluid ? I just put Red Line D4 ATF in mine about a month ago. The difference was astounding; steering was so much easier. And bleeding it got the bubbles out, so the groaning at low speeds went away. The difference may just be down to fresh fluid, and not that it was Red Line in particular. But it definitely improved things. Stuart.
im not sure what car you have, but I have the same issues on my 04 sti, mostly on sharp corners and hard turns. I have no idea whats wrong either
What do you drive? I've seen that happen with sports car Power-assist, where the "power" gets reduced or stopped based upon speeds.
