I'm pretty sure I know what to do to fix it... go to the Cobb LWG map. But I really like the performance when accelerating hard. How relatively safe do you think it is if I just occasionally boost that high with stock engine / injectors / pump? Say, no more than 2 to 3 seconds... I'm measuring boost with the "Live Boost" functionality of the AP I run the 91 octane map and I fill up with 92, or higher (when I find it). Thanks
you will be fine. I would have it check with a wbo2 and see where your afr sits. I would also get the tari logger and pull some logs that way to make sure you are not knocking. As long as you are knock free and the afr is in check you will be fine. I do have a wbo2 and the tari logger if you want to head over to the est side of st. paul to check things out. Russ
in all reality you are probably hitting more like 17psi. the ap seems to be off as i have recently found it. i thought i was loosing boost through my bov but i guess i was wrong. anyways, ap said 16.4 and the dyno said 13.8.
^^^ Have you ever logger your car with the tari logger to see what your map sensor is reading? The is the best way of doing it. Russ
That sounds like a plan. I used to live on the East Side (1813 Ames Ave), just off of Whitebear. I won't be able to make it this Saturday, but next (11/26/05) will work. Give me a PM and we can work out the details
The dyno told you what boost you were running? Odd, I have yet to see anyone hook up a boost sensor to the dyno.
True, but the AP also takes its reading from the MAP sensor. Still though, it is best to use either Tari DL1 or ECUexplorer since they have a maximum value function to determine peak boost.
Mine spiked on Cobb stage 2 LWG at about 18.3 psi driftin240 told me when he was hooking it up. I still haven't had a chance to run the regular stg 2 map so I have nothing to compare to.
so with that being said there is really no difference between the two? The difference would lie within the user not seeing the highest readin on the AP. as for you blackdubs...they throw a T in the boost gauge hose to get the reading. simmer down my cocky child.
Cocky child? I was asking a question, sorry you misunderstood. Which dyno was this at? Already been to Elite on several different occasions. Two of those just happened to be dyno days.
ron runs a boost line for every car i've seen on the wheels. and iirc last dyno day he was getting iconsistant readings..
I downloaded and installed the tari software. I'll hook my laptop up and see what happens this weekend.
