i now have two axlebacks for sale 1 04 sti axleback in good condition 1 tanabe medalion axleback for a GC8 also in good condition. each one is $50 because thats what i paid for them. im not trying to rip anyone off they just didnt fit right on my car
Looks like someone didn't do their homework and is paying for procrastinating. Sorry to hear that it doesn't fit the MY05 RS.
This IS a direct fit for a MY93-01 Impreza. Either Tbone just has a messed up exhaust system or the MRT's flange was welded at a different seating position.
The turbo Imprezas has a different flange clocking compared to the NA models. Even the WRX and STi mufflers can swap with each other, and if they can, then it won't fit our NA exhaust piping. Like I said, the STi one wouldn't fit. but hey...you gotta try to see for yourself you know. Like I said, just cut the pipe, reweld, and you're done!
Mike, just to let you know try them out before you buy it. now you stuck just like me "exhaust collection"
What I did to put a wrx catback on my L was to fill the holes on the flange with the wirefeed, then hang it on the car, mark the holes from the midpipe and drill new holes in the flange. I also cut and rewelded the front hanger, but I've heard you don't even need that.
hey, ill buy the sti axle back if you still have it, and its good conditon, how can i get it in im Detroit lakes.... i might come down sometime though
If I was in the area I'd pick up the tanabe racing medallion (sp?) exhaust, but I'm up in northern wisconsin and don't plan on being around the twin cities for a while. Sorry :cry:
