I traded in the STI Limited late last week for an 08 R32.

I'll still be trolling these forums as I've come to have a great respect for the Subaru powerplant and driveline, and for this enthusiast community in general. Compared to other local clubs, this one have a much higher signal to noise ratio and some truly clever people posting up relevant technical info.

If you're interested in the STI, it's for sale at West Side, and I can give you the details offline: http://wsvw.lutherauto.com/Preowned-Inventory.aspx?InventoryId=24840621

cool, my old neighbor in duluth has got himself a 08 R32. very nice cars, just a little sluggish in the power department.

R32 powah: Yup, a little more sluggish than the STI and significantly softer in the corners, but I'm happier on balance.

Mileage: Driving from Savage to New Brighton every day does tend to rack up the miles; about 75m daily.

Reliability: I've seen a few threads/posts on this site re: VW reliability, but I've not personally experienced it. For the three VWs I owned prior to the R32 (98 Jetta 2.0, 2001 Jetta 1.8t, 2003 Jetta 1.8t) the only issue I experienced was a coil pack failure on the 2001. I knew about the issue and had a copy of the TSB in the glovebox. When it failed, I had it towed to the dealership on their dime and the repair was done in under 24h.

To each their own. It's a good looking car for sure, but I remember it being unremarkable in all aspects.

I really wish my STi was a limited... as much as the wing adds character, I like that trunk with the small raised section...whatever it is called. R32's are badass, but I am a Subie guy for life. Unless of course they completely change their ways in the future. Hopefully the R32 treats you as well as the STi.

I've never been in the new R32s but I started out looking at the older ones before I bought my STI. Great cars and have one the best sounding exhaust I've ever heard stock. The seats were bar none the best, too. Sure it's down on power compared to the STI or EVO but it's not a car built to complete with either.

I'm sure you'll enjoy it. Congrats!

This whole thread/story is really quite tragic. It's like telling everyone that you broke up with a girlfriend that liked to party, put out and allow you man-time for a high-maintenance beeyotch with an arid twat.

I remember thinking, *briefly*, that I'd made a mistake buying my '02 WRX wagon before the 1st USDM R32 came out. Then, I drove an R32. I felt A LOT better about my decision.

    Teutonic pooponit.
