I put some 2012 STi seats in the 09 Forester. They bolt right in a plug in directly (minus the heating elements I need to swap over at some point). The driver side seat works great, only real difference is that it's manual now. But when I put in the passenger side seat, the airbag lights come on. Both the gauge cluster and the one by the clock. I've unplugged and plugged them back in. Same. Put the original seat back in, lights go out. Any idea why?
Starting to take things apart so I can troubleshoot. I see that the mounting brackets just unbolt and swap over. So I'll be able to use the higher seat mounts on the STi seats. Sweet!
Looks like the airbag sensor might be Forester specific. 98226fg000 is a generic Subaru sensor. 98226sc000 is specific to the Forester. Hmmm... might have to swap the sensor over...
Those sensors are car (and market) specific. I've had to reuse the stock ones for my jdm integra seats and for my outback sport to sti blues
Yup, sensors were model specific. I didn't have to swap it out when I did STi seats in my WRX. This time I did.
Looking back on this, I really like the fact that the stitching is not red. I dig it in the WRX with the STi leather interior, but this is nice and matches the Forester really well.
I was worried about the Alcantara with the black leather seats. It's perfect! Looks great with the rear seats all black leather.
I'd love those seats in mine (weld broke a while ago in my driver's seat). Look kinda weird in mine with the stupid cream/grey colored interior.
