So today i was helping my buddy change around his tail light bulbs in his sti and we came up with this.

We set it up to have the normal break light to be the running light but also used the dual filament bulb so it would also light up when brakes are applied. Then we set up the two outer bulbs to only light up when brakes are applied. Its very easy if you know how to solder, and is a very unique look I think. let me know what you think.

They call that the JDM tail light mod over on NASIOC. I had it done. I was driving into work early one morning and a cop that was walking around warned me that this is illegal. I still haven't been pulled over for it though.

How is this illegal? The brake lights are even brighter now.

Yeah I was confused too. He said something about altering the light configuration from what it was originally intended for and that by doing this it gives you a smaller running light. Mabe the guy was full of himself.

Haha he must have been. We live in grand forks, ND so prolly wont have to worry, cops here don't care about car mods.

In the state of Minnesota, it is illegal to modify the lighting systems of a vehicle in virtually any way.
