My frigen winsheild is cracked on my sti, and me thinking that my windshield never cracked on my wrx in 3 years didn't get glass coverage. Any idea how much it costs for new one? is it worth the $500 on the deductible or just pay for it myself?

also are all the sti windsheilds crappy or did i just have bad luck? i got 2 chips in this one within the first 7500 miles and my wrx had 90k with no chips :(

Paid $250 for mine a year and a half ago...my new ones had a three foot crack in it for about a year now! I really don't think that there is a bit of difference between windshields in a wrx/STi. But could be wrong, I would say that you probably just want to go pay for it. The deductable will be more than the cost of replacement! Everytime I put in a new windshield, rocks and other projectiles/debris become magnetically charged and flock to my windshield like 't3h w00t boyz' to jag! Mine is going to stay broken for a while longer.:(

What company is your insurance through? Usually, glass falls under comprehensive and doesn't have a deductable. And from what I can tell, the glass is the same on all the sedans unless they have a heated windshield.

Sounds like you didn't sign up for glass coverage or they just don't offer it. I've got glass and don't pay a cent for replacement. For the small fee they charge is worth it.

You don't pay a penny you are correct...at least not right away. But a lot of times since you've made a claim the insurance company will run a current background check for your next 6 month renewal bill which may or may not be an issue for some people

That happened to me when my sti windshield broke although mine happened on one of the fall fun runs from a big flying rock from one of the front cars.

I have 30,000 on mine and a few chips from all the rocks on the road in my area and have had no cracks yet.

As long as you don't do it more then once every 2 years there's no effect (with Farmers). I asked.

dude, you can call auto glass today and when they ask you if you've called other places say yea and they quoted you $250 installed. that's how much it cost to put a new front wind shield on my 03 wrx.

I replaced the windshield twice on the '04 STi. Had the coverage so don't know the price.
