Nothing else? what else would I need? I'll call dibs if this isn't something that'll be a PITA to hunt down all the other stuff I need to install.
I have done some research through Minnetonka Subaru, and you CAN'T order parts for these stock gauges, you can only replace the whole gauge through them! I currently have three stock gauges for the dash cluster and only one of them can be used:emo: ...but from what I hear, the stock ones aren't worth the trouble of searching for parts. Aftermarket is the only way to go? Really I'm just venting because the ones I picked up had no additional parts and I in all reality can only hook up the boost gauge out of the three by buying the vac. hose and "t" connector from Napa. So even if the gauge for sale here is missing those two items, they are affordable and easy to come by! Sorry about the rant:rant: ..........I'm better now
Doesn't the gauge pod use some funky OEM diameter that doesn't work with most standard after market sizes? Kinda sucks. I found this on scooby mods: shineynitelite, I'm assuming this is already mounted on the column cover. So what else from the above pic would be missing? You didn't just snip the wires (leaving the harnesses behind) did you? If you can't tell, I want this thing! I just don't want a head ache.
As long as the harness is there then all you'll need is some wire, vacuum line of some type and a vacuum line T. Stock gauge works just as well as the aftermarkets. Most don't like it because it's in Megapascal and not PSI or because it uses a white light.
i havnt done anything yet. i take it you have the blank steering column? i was planning on using the vaccuum line on teh new guage if it works, if not i'l be taking it out and replacing the line with the stuff that comes with the guage. i was planning on cutting the wires and running them to the new guages just for the sake of takin like 5 minutes.
I'm thinking the factory mounted boost coupled with this pod (with EGT/Oil pressure) would be the low key/sleeper look/OEM look I'm going for.
i have one of those, i was going to get a wideband and an egt guage but now i'm just getting a boost gauge in psi and an egt gauge. the naked column will be keeping with teh 2.5rs theme SLEEPER loll.
Thats what I'm getting next when I get an EGT (and it gets nicer out, cold garage = no go). Looks like a very clean look.
