I need help! I just got a 99 RS and there is an aftermarket steering wheel on it. I have the stock one, but the problem is that the clips that connect the stock steering wheel is cut. Where and how can I fix it?
I've got a stock 02 RS steering wheel (with airbag) and I've got a couple of 02 WRX MOMO steering rims in ok shape. You'd need to find an airbag for the MOMO rims. What connectors are cut, the ones in the steering wheel for the cruise control. If the connector that leads out of the steering roll connector (They're the yellow airbag ones) is cut then you'll need a new roll connector. Those can be rather pricey. Just let me know and I can price one out for you, and let me know if you're interested in the steering wheel. Thanks!
Just noticed Brian, My car was just there, the blue 99 2.5 rs with the carbon fiber hood. I met Brett and you might have seen me yesterday when I came to pick it up around 6, but Man, things sure got messed up around there.
It's Jerry, right? I remember meeting you. I'll check to see if the stock airbag I have would fit a MOMO rim. If it will I'll show you the two I have and we can go from there. I want to make sure they didn't cut the wiring on the roll connector, because if they did then you'll need a new one. Brian, it got it installed and the airbag is set and good to go. Thanks alot. Forgot about your MOMO Steering wheel! the abs light is still on and the turn signals won't automatically go back to neutral once you turn. Any ideas? how much were the sipped tires?
No worries, stop in any time and you can take your pick. We'll also check to see if the airbags are compatible. I'll ask about the turn signals. The ABS light might need to have a code cleared, I'll find out what might be involved with that one. I've got to look up the pricing, but for 17's the Hakka RSI's are in the 800 dollar range.
