This thing is pretty impossible to miss, what with it being purple and all. But I posted it mostly because it's a pretty sad story. And in the off-chance that someone actually sees it, at least I can say I did my part http://www.kare11.com/news/news_article.aspx?storyid=528441&catid=2 (also, sorry if this is a repeat, I did a search, nothin came up... nothin at all )
That's why we can't have nice things Stupid thieves. I feel for the guy... some things are worth more than money.
What NO pictures? I was getting excited when opening the link and then buzzkill. I know what a Charger looks like but always nice to see a fine Mopar.
There was a good article about it in the Leader Telegram (Eau Claire's newspaper) if I remember I'll post it. There was a picture
Its more likely that its someone you know or they know you. How do they know that you're going to be out of town? Back in 04 when my Honda Del Sol was stolen, called the cops and when they arrive they asked me am I suspicious of anybody? I was going to say yes b/c I do suspect a person. But I said no, dont want be guilty accusing anyone. Turns out yes IT IS that person. My friend next door's cousin. Buddy next door told me 2mos after it was stolen that his cousin admit to him that he stole my car. A$$' o... This happen 2days b4 I was going to make my 2nd payment. Aftermarket alarm and club lock doesn't help. Complete stripped, only the shell left w/4 spare tires on. I got $130 back from insurance.
I wanna see some pics. I Swear I saw a darker color vehicle that looks like a dodge charger on a budget tow truck/flat bed this morning heading north on 35E and maryland ave around 8ish. I was on my way to work. Was still kinda no light out, it was going the opposite direction also so i could really take a good look at it.
i didnt read the article i just saw pictures but how in the world did that guy not wake up when he heard that thing. i bet that ****er is loud as hell!
Well yeah. I expect they did what any "smart" car thief does, they use a flatbed tow truck with markings like a local tow company (or it may be their truck) No one questions it (except the orginal owner), even Veyrons (and Chargers) break down. No need for immobilizer passes or breaking glass. Take it to container, put it on, ship out of country, then they defeat any theft protection. Was this car not lo-jacked?
uhm ... if you had read the article you would see that the owner was out of town when this was stolen. Either way, if NOBODY heard it, they used a flatbed.
