2003 Subaru Impreza WRX - Lic#: 968 BJT Stock exhaust, yellow film on the fog lights, black MNSubaru stickers on the rear windows, SPT Intake, and bronze stockers. Came outside this morning to find it gone. No glass or anything, but the treads on the sand don't look like my tires... Most current picture that I have of the car. PM me if you have any info!
Ouch. Not a good sign. I'm sorry, I'll keep my eyes open on the off chance that I see it tooling around.
What part of STP - east side? I will keep an eye out in that location. By any chance was it towed or something along those lines?
White Bear Ave. & Nebraska It was parked in my driveway, so I don't see why it would've been towed. Thanks for the eyes MNSubaru.
What are your thoughts on the treads in the sand? Do you think they lifted it, changed wheels or covered up your prints? We can create our own MNSUBARU investigation... : ) Good to hear your insurance is taking care of you!
Probably nothing more than me over analyzing the scene lol. At this point we'll see if me and my car are meant to be.
had a car stolen off como one time, got a call a week later saying it was found. was taken for a joyride, hardly any parts were removed. insurance adjuster said that most of the time they get trashed pretty good unfortunately and that i was lucky. still didn't like the fact that someone had driven it and who knows what they did to it while they were joyriding. i invisioned red lining it in first gear for a few blocks.... best of luck getting it back quickly. i'll keep my eyes open on craigslist for '03 parts
My sympathies, but personally I would be praying it isn't found or what is found is a total loss (this is provided your insurance will reimburse you a fair amount). The world sucks. Good luck.
Car was recovered last night in Maplewood. Picked it up this morning with close to the half tank I had in it when it was stolen, lol. 0 damage, all parts intact.
Awesome. I'll be interested to hear if they find anything in the investigation. Hopefully they didn't bounce off redline too much. *edit* Also, damn good cost on the re-keying. I looked in to it once for my BMW and the cost was six or seven times that!
Wow, never thought it would be recovered without any damage to it. Just makes you wonder why people go through all that trouble to take a car for a joy ride. They must haven't liked your parts under the hood Congrats on the successful recovery.
First thing I would do when you get it back is a oil change and look for any kinda of metal flakes in the oil. Before you get to happy that everything is good, you will want to check over the motor as best as you can. A couple of miles of flogging the hell out of the car "could" kill the motor based off of your tune. Russ
Thanks guys. Yeah Russ, I just picked the car up this AM before I went into work, now it's waiting for me in the garage @ home. I haven't had any ample amount of time to go over the car, but the initial drive provided no indications of serious damage.
Just a general related question: So if the engine where found to have severe damage or the tranny or something expensive, would insurance cover it since it was not damaged by you or are you sol since it was recovered? Hopefully you don't have to worry about that and everything is in good shape.
Car is running like a top as usual. Insurance will cover the damages if it's recovered with those issues. If in a few months I run into issues I believe I'm SOL, but as far as I can tell I won't be having any issues in terms of the car running anytime soon.
