!! FINAL RACE OF THE YEAR SEPT 20TH.!! there are street legal drag nights out at b.i.r. on certain wednesday nights. here is the full list of dates for wed nights. starts at about 4-5pm and goes until 9-9:30pm Sept. 20th here's the details- $20 to run (can easily get 10 runs in) $5 to watch. so if anyone can make it i am usally always out there, usally alot of fun, not alot of people so it is easy to get runs in. hope to see some people make it up sometime. :biggrin:
Dude! thanks for the info, i was guna try and get a crew out from duluth some night for this, and when i asked for info like prices i never got a responce, 20 bux is nothing! i will definatly be making it to one sometime this summer. i will be sure to let u know. what time in the afternoon does it start at? thats the other thing i wanted to know.
Brainerd International Raceway. So its in brainerd. I dunno about the # of ppl. I haven't been out to one but i might make it to the one on the 21st as well.
the track is about 2.5 hours north of the cities, come up 94 and go to 10 in st.cloud and from there get on 371 the rest of the way, this last wednesday was a small turnout out with the iffy weather but there is usuall around 50-80 cars out there. it is very easy to get up to 10 runs in a night.
I'd go if I didn't have to work. As far as a lot of people being there, there really is never a TON. You never wait in the staging lanes longer than like 5 minutes.. There's usually more cars PARKED than racing. Also, you can't run slicks .. only DOT approved tires (since it is a "streel legal race day.") I'm sure that puts a damper on how many people show. But you guys are all AWD and won't have a problem with the ****ty traction there since they don't want to waste their precious VHT on a Wednesday.
well right now im planning on the one on the 12th, im sure deride will come with me as well as some other people from duluth. how was the one on wensday?
this last wed was a good turnout, lots of people from areas all over the place, Ron from RS was there with his evo-ran a 12.1, there was alot of the mitsubishi guys there, the two big gun steatlhs were out there, the black one running 10.7's and the LSE blue stealth, not sure if he got any good runs though,. but it was definitely the best turnout of the year so far. hope to see some people out there next time.:biggrin: (also talked to ScandiaWrx out there, it was nice to see another subaru out there even though neither of us were running)
damn i woulda loved to see ron run, havnt really talked to him for a while. but yea, i should be there. so look for the red teg. oh yea and if u ever wana sell your wagon let me know, iv got a pretty big itch to find myself a AWD MT imprezza wagon for this winter... hehe
pretty much any snell rated helmet will do, 90 or higher would be best. other than that the main thing they check is battery strapped down and seatbelts, mainly the safety stuff. it's pretty easy to pass tech:biggrin:
well it looks like it shouldn't rain but it's gonna be warm mid 80's, i was gonna race if it was cooler, so i probably won't be racing but i will be out there.
are you guys coming for sure? it's gonna be a scorcher, just checking cause if you guys aren't coming down i am not gonna head out there. let me know.
I'm going to bring my Dad up to watch. No racing though. I spooked myself with the last Rally-X (hmmm, was that a brake smell or a clutch smell that followed me home?)
consistant 14.8s @ 95-96 mph not bad for a car with 130whp, and much better than the last time i ran it. wish it woulda been 60 out tho, cause damn it was hot.
Yea, it was quite fun watching other than the heat today... I'll try to make it to another one this year.
not too bad small turnout from the heat but some decent cars out there, i'll have a few pics and a couple vids in vid section later today.:biggrin:
