So there was a little track event and i realized that i would really like a shorter throw. Just wondering what everyone was using... KB and Cobb seem to be the main ones. Is it worth the extra 20 for the adjustable functions?
From the ones I have installed on customer cars I would say thet are about the same. The best thing you can do is to concintrate on all the bushings in the shifter. There are eight in total that can be replaced. You might want to go to http://turninconcepts.com/ for some more information.
I like my cobb, I adjusted it a few times to get it right where I like it. I do think the bushings made the most difference though, removes all that mushy slop from the shifter.
I am glad I took OB1's advice on those bushing. I have two Cobb Duel adjustable on my cars. And have installed two STI's with complete bushing sets from Tuninconcepts. If you have ever sat in a race car and felt how nice the gears slide in and out, those bushing will give you simular feedback. I personally prefer the adjustable just because I can customize it to my driving style. Besides the benefit of having a shorter throw, I also like reducing the chances of mis-shifting gears. Ask around and see if you can test drive some cars with these products to get a better idea.

There are 4 bushings in the universal joint under the car. There are two bushings that support the idler arm under the car. there are two that go on the SS in the cabin.
