Woah no bueno, Travis and Block were both great advertisers for Subaru, its going to be interesting to see what happens now that there gone. Sad day.
HAHAHAHAHA!!! no way!!! well, give him a year or 2 until he wins the daytona 500. lol too funny. where did you read that Carl?
This is true they weren't the BEST, but they certainly got a message out there weather or not that was there intention. Block with the whole youtube videos and Pastrana with his show and video games, depending on how much they were getting paid by Subaru, Subaru was getting a lot of good advertising that didn't cost them much. Hopefully they will pick up some solid drivers that will get up on the podium. Hopefully if he wrecks he wont think hes on fire...
LOLOLOLOL!!!! this ^ Just cant see him in a car without someone next to him. Maybe they can make an exception for him him and let him have a co-driver in his nascar for the first year. You up for that dave? then Carl can take Christian Edstrom for his co-driver LOLOLOL. I kid.
Waltrip Racing is who he is supposedly going to be racing for in NASCAR. farewell to another great SRT driver...
I love the fact he is wearing a red and black plaid shirt, LOL. I'd probably go to NASCAR if they offered the kind of cash they throw around. If anyone here says they wouldn't too, they are lying. It's like saying you wouldn't be a Backstreet Boy. Everyone talks ****, but you'd still do it for the money and the hoes. Or you could be like Wu Tang and say, "**** the fame, gimme the money and the weed." :dunno: So, Tanner for the championship?
You make a good point. However, if I were Travis. I wouldn't do it, yea sure the money would be nice. It would be nice for people like us. But Travis is already loaded!
i have no problem with him leaving at all, and i completely understand why he did. subaru is basically over rally, he wanted more money and probably more seat time, so he left subaru and went to something else. understandable. but why the hell would he go to NASCAR? he could have been in almost any type of racing he wanted to be in, and he chooses NASCAR? eh, he will probably only do it for a season or two and move on to the next thing anyways.
tanner didn't do stage rally at all last year. I doubt he will do any stage events in 2011 either. His focus has been drifting and Euro Rallycross. Many top competitors will not be back for a full national championship schedule this season so it will be very interesting to see what happens. I'm planning a full national season right now. Going big bros
i understand that, and i would do it in a heartbeat as well, i also know that pastrana is THE definition of an adrenaline junky, but i would have figured he would find something equally (if not more) exciting than NASCAR. it just seems like a weird step in his career. stage rally to NASCAR.
"exciting" is based on personal perception. NASCAR is just different from rally, not any less exciting or challenging.
I can see why he would want to move on. Honestly, I don't think there was enough of a challenge for him in Rally anymore. Nascar is a lot more drivers that at this stage are all better than you, and you have a race almost every weekend. Its like going from a part time job to a full time job. I think that he needs to constantly push himself in new directions, and this is about as much of a left turn as he can get (see what I did there). Russ
Well, I may have to start watching nascar (like my parents do) and root for him, to piss mom and dad off.
Sorry, but NASCAR has world's more talent than Rally America could ever dream of. They find drivers from every kind of racing. You think going 180mph+ 3 cars wide isn't enough adrenaline? lol
No doubt. NASCAR drivers are amazing. I don't care for the archetypal NASCAR fan, nor do I enjoy watching the races, but I give full credit to the drivers. There is enormous skill and endurance, and strategy and tactics are critical as well to the success of a NASCAR driver. I just wish they were running road courses and not ovals. More like the British Touring Car series. That would be some racing to watch.
well in NASCAR you can only have a 2 digit number.... no more 199 that he has used since he was way young....
Meh, if there is any truth in his "I have wanted to drive in nascar since i was a kid" then good for him. And since i will be going to Iowa Speedway again this year for Nationwide, i hope thats one of the races he makes it to this year... BTW, Nascar live and in person is pretty epic as long as the competition is good.... and Kyle Busch is there so you can boo him.... and pray he doesn't win.... < at the last 2 Nationwide races at Iowa Speedway, there will be 2 races there for 2011.
