http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXRCW6&P=ML What do you guys think about this one ? I am not sure how good it is but it definetly looks cool.
I am thinking about getting one from ebay. I think it look cool, and i bet it is actully pretty good to bash over the bumps
for me, if i go Off-Road, I would go with the Nitro T-MaxXx w/the 2.5 motor. Aniways that truck looks good for off-road drifting, I would prefer no dummy inside the car there though. makes it look too kidish.
it's 2WD.....total let down. buuut....is a tamiya. and very good quality. I've never seen/driven the re-release version, but have seen and driven a few of the old ones. very nice. it's one of the next R/C things I want (right after the fully functional Blade-CX heli )
would kinda disagree with you. I had both and nitro cars are way more work. You can make electic car go fast very easily and no need of expensive gas.
I had a R/C electric subaru rally wrx, which was a pain because you cant go thru puddles because the servo starts going crazy. But with the nitro you can drive thru puddles atleast 2 1/2" deep without the servo going crazy.
who cares? how many people want to drive RC cars in the rain anyway? Most people do it when its nice out, and I say electric is FTW
oh yeah, electric ftw! I have had both also, but now use electric only. I have a spare set of batteries and a super nice charger so I can play all day with maybe 15-20 mins pit stops after I've used up both pairs of batteries the first time. But to be honest I rarely will play with it for that long, at most 3 runs at a time so I'm only waiting on one recharge <<---And I run an Emaxx with a JR digital 3 channel radio, 2 monster maxx wild motors and lots of shinny aluminum parts FTW!!
a nitro car still uses an electric steering servo......a few minutes with some silicone and/or candle wax, and you can take an electric car much further than a nitro one (can you say hydrolock?) these tires are about 3" tall: I wouldn't have any worries going deeper.....just need to improve the gearing setup..... nitro has it's advantages, but it'll always be straight-up gas or electric for me. nitro is just toooooo much of a PITA to maintain, and too expensive.
Just make sure you guys DONT get a AWD with PLASTIC driveshaft. It sucks after a while. You could hear friction problems. My Tamiya has Plastic driveshaft and now its making noises and also the DriveShaft will loose its center balance and be kinda wiggly at high Rpm(I also Upgraded to Full ball bearing). I'm going for a BeltDriven Chassic on my next purchase.
HPI RS4 Pro3 electric for me, thing doesnt have a single stock part anymore, all Carbon Fiber, Titanium and Aluminum
The Tamiya cars are great. But yes, they come with plastic driveshafts...But the great thing about Tamiya cars is that hop up parts are cheap and plentiful. Although, I do like the RS4-Nitro idea too.
Yes, Tamiyas are very bullet proof, but when you start pushing the limits power wise, they sometimes can snap those things. But not often. Tamiya > * IMO.
HPI makes nice stuff too, no doubt. But I've got a soft spot for the TL04R since my buddy let me play with his.
