I just purchased this car yesterday. I sold my 2004 wrb WRX back in November 2013. I've been searching for a GR hatchback since then. This car was just listed two days ago and decided to snag it right away since i was in desperate need of a car. I bought it with 77k Miles. The plan is to buy parts and install for spring and get it to "stage 2".

sorry for crappy picture..It was dark and very cold when i picked it up last night from dealership.

Copy cat! Haha I'm totally kidding, very nice purchase. I know you were on the fence, but good to see you picked up an 08. I think you will like it over the 04.

And btw, the color is actually Aspen White, not Satin White Pearl ;) . Aspen white was available on the STI in 04-06 and 08-10. Satin White Pearl was offered in 07 and 11+.

thanks! i wanted to wait a bit, but it was reasonably priced so i went ahead and got it.

I do have a question concerning the tail lights...do you guys usualy just do the over lays? I've been watching the diy videos and the bumps on the tail lights just look like a pain.

Talk to Chris at Flawless Front Ends and he can do the tail light tint for you for a very reasonable price...about the same as what you would pay for a good set of overlays anyway. Get your windows tinted while you're there too!

I opted for the full red overlays. I was originally going to have him do the cutouts, but I liked the all red look. Be warned, your reverse lights will look red/pink. Not a big deal to me since I don't DD it.

I also like the look of the red overlays with the cutouts, and then having the inner cutout section tinted. I think Chris may have done that with his 11+ hatch.

Thanks, I'll. Contact him tomorrow. I just noticed a little dent that might rust that was covered with touch up on the driver's rear fender. Debating if I should keep the car or return it back...

Return it back to them so they can do a better job touching up the scratch on the dent? Or try to give the car back so you don't own it?

Chris also did my overlays. I highly recommend it!

Return it back so i don't own it. I'm pretty sure they won't fix it. I'm just trying to figure out how much the dent would cost out of my pocket right now before i decide to return it, but i've never have that kind of stuff repaired before.

Oh do they give you a few days to change your mind and return it or something?

I'm not too concern about the door ding but the dent on the rear fender connect to rear bumper is what's worrying me.

I should of taken a better look at them. was a bit dark and was just using my phone's flashlight...didn't noticed it until i pumped gas yesterday.

That is a pretty ****ty repair job...almost looks like they used SWP touch up paint and should have used Aspen White like TMF said.
Even without the discoloration it looks like a piss poor repair.

I don't know if I would return it just yet but definitely call them and ask them to please fix it.

dang, that's a bummer...new fun toy only to discover issues :(

Just remember, there are others out there. And if you're really concerned and planning on keeping an STI for a while...might want to exercise that return. You can always find another...I only had to go to Vegas to get mine lol.

And just to play devil's advocate :D...if you do return it, do yourself a favor and at least test drive an Evo. I wish I would have some days.

I've been checking with some shops to see if they can quote me on how much it'll cost to do this repair. If it doesn't take much of a dent to the wallet then I wouldn't mind.

If anyone knows any body shops then please lmk.

I don't think i can do with an Evo since it's not as DD friendly. I'm not really into a lot of power. I just want enough power to push it a bit here and there. Also i prefer the GR look over Evos.

I wasn't referring to the evo for power, but more so the handling. I'll agree with you though, the evo is not as dd friendly....tiny trunk and arguably worse interior that subaru ,which is hard to imagine.

I don't have any personal experience with body shops in the metro, but several others here have.

Would you consider a garage body shop? My buddy works from his garage, does good work. I went to Dunwoody with him for auto body repair and painting.

Well I talked to sales rep that worked with me and he told me to come in next week to have their used car manager take a look at it. We'll see how that goes first.

Good call. That would be nice if they covered the cost for you. Pm me if you're interested, I could give you his number. The more options the better, imo :)
