Sorry if I posted this in the incorrect section, but I wanted to know where I should look for a new used wrx thats in good condition or if any of you guys know of anything. Im looking for the 2nd or 3rd gen wrx non sti with less then 50k miles on it for 16,500 or less. I currently drive an 03 mitsu lancer oz, its a nice car but its too goddamn slow and I want something more fun that will be worth while to tune in my book. Thus Im back looking at the subi's again, I can afford 16.5 or less, Im really just looking for something clean that hasn't really been tampered with. I've checked carsoup and autotrader, and Im going to some dealers Friday but just wondering where else to look and what I should look out for when it comes to that car. Thanks guys!
Assuming you mean 04-05 vs 06-07 by 2nd and 3rd gen, there are some very huge differences between the body styles. Namely, starting in 06 the wrx got the 2.5l motor. As with any used car purchase, you'll want a qualified or competent person to look over the mechanicals. Just beware of "David from Saint Paul" when searching local listings like CL. For more background, search this site for WMC. There's a monster thread on this company (now called Elite motors or something like that). Also, you should have access to the classifieds on here (based on length of stay and not post count).

I believe it's "Elite Motorsports" - but if you are smart and look out for it, you'll be able to spot his posts. he's usually selling **** for way less than you'd expect.
Thats how she looks right now. I've seen a couple of guys out here, namely a blue sti at the transit stop by here, as well as an sti thats in my neighborhood. I also met a few of you last winter at afton alps. I'll keep an eye open, if I can make a move soon I will but Im thinking mid to late may for when I make a move on a different car. I don't mind the 2.5l but I want a hatch if I get the newest gen (3rd right?) and if I get last gen, sedan. Im kind of stuck because obviously I want the newest for power and what not, I'll keep searching though.
