I bought this enclosure off ebay and i love the design, look, and layout of it but mated with old skool Bazooka's they dont sound all that well. Anyone know of any subs that sound good with a smaller size box? Thanks in advance.

FYI--Heres the link to the enclosure--http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/02-07-Impreza-WRX-STI-SEDAN-Sub-SUBWOOFER-BOX-Enclosure_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trkparmsZ72Q3a1205Q7c66Q3a2Q7c65Q3a12Q7c39Q3a1Q7c240Q3a1318Q7c301Q3a1Q7c293Q3a1Q7c294Q3a50QQ_trksidZp3286Q2ec0Q2em14QQhashZitem300259160037QQitemZ300259160037QQptZCarQ5fSubwoofersQ5fEnclosures

Well, I just installed this underseat sub about a month ago. I wasn't looking for ear-drum-popping bass, but it has enough punch to even out the highs on my aftermarket speakers well, and has more punch then I would've guessed for such a small sub and enclosure. Guess that may not be the question you're asking, though.

    Thanks for the reply Bullwinkle,

Any overheating issues with your sub? I never had any experience with the compact sub/amp combo but i have heard plenty of horror stories though. Also how did you mount it under your seat? Is it easily removeable? Every now and then I do need my trunk space for long road trips or camping so I have been looking for something simple like what you have.

I have two 10" Rockford Fosgate subs matted to a crappy 1000 watt pioneer amp. My box is much smaller than yours and still pounds hard enough to make your heart skip a beat..or three.

I think I picked up my subs (subs only) for about 100 at Circuit City or some such store.

Yup, only needed to run RCAs, power (to batt, and a +12 to the HU to turn the sub on), and ground. The install was cake.

No problems yet. There's enough airflow through to cool the unit down, so I'm not to worried about heat issues. It's just velcro'd to the carpet (with some big ole strips), and certainly isn't going anywhere. Everything is plug'n'play on the unit, so I could easily remove it by unplugging the wires from the sub and pull it out.

What is the CuFt of the box?

I'm a speaker geek, they have to be perfect for me to stand them. A cheap speaker in a correctly sized box will sound better than the world's best speaker in an ebay "one size fits all" box.

I had a set of Crossfire DVC subs (before they had a million different kinds) and tuned them to a 1.11 CuFt stuffed sealed box (the Q was right at 1.0) and they were crazy. Loud, tight, and no distortion.

If you give me the specs on the speakers I can see what would be best. If the box is too big, its easy to add blocks in it to make it effectively smaller so the sound would be better.

    Your welcome!

Also yes I fully agree with Shibbs, specs and such of said box and woofers would be nice. also is the box separated or one big box?
