It's on Car Soup for sale. Didnt think anyone would pry themselves away from the tv on a cold day. Well he did and IT didnt start. Figures huh......

Well it still wont start, just pops. Guess I better get a magnet heater and stick it to the oil pan for a day or two. The XT started, go figure..... lol

Was 23 below this morning when I headed into work. Have a trickle charger on the SVX. Should we bet if it starts or not? I'm betting no

    Dont know

Never tried. I have a magnet heater on the oil pan of the XT and it works fine. Easy thing to do and since my motor doesnt have oil all over it, it should be a snap. Just reach under the car and stick it on the bottom. I'm not going to leave it on, will pull it befor I drive it, just want to get the car started now that I've tried. It's been sitting for over a month with out running so I should ne be surprised it didnt start.

preza turned right over, but i found that the fuel system on the SVX sucks big donkey ****... i would have to turn on and off the key about 5 times before turning it over to get it to start at all.

    Well

He called and got directions and came right out, didnt have much time to start it ahead of time and it would not have mattered. It just wasnt going to start.

I was thinking of turning the key on and off a few times but I dont want to flood the car since it's so easy to change the plugs on it. not

I think the magnet heater will probably do it.

i dont mean turn it over even, let the fuel pump prime a few times, then just hit the gas before you turn it over to crack the TB... before i started doing it, my SVX would never start, now taht i do that it cranks over first try no problems

    Well

I tried that and now I smell gas. Time to let it sit I guess. I dont need to drive it and the magnet heater is on. Will try it tomorrow. It was so close to running thou and then the battery decided to get weak. Oh well.

hmm, i never had a problem with it, all you are doing is pressurizing the system like that and priming it... i wonder if you have a crack in the fuel line? i know its really common

the stinks...nothing like the frustration of a dead car and numb fingers working on it..

battery heater and/or block heater goes a long way in weather like this

    LOL Chux

You can push in in the lake up there but it's frozen so you will still have to look at it till Spring.

I thought about getting another battery but I dont feel like messing with the security fob. Will try tonight after I get home. Magnet heater is on all day, maybe it will catch fire and I can claim it on my insurance and taxes. lol

    Well

It's up and running again. Just wont let it sit for a couple months and then try starting it on the coldest day of the year next time. lol

I'm starting to think I'm to old for this cold crap. Wait, I think I am the oldest on the board or one of the top few. :)

I'm afraid to try and start the MR2... it's been sitting outside all winter and the last time I ran it was like 3 weeks ago. :ugh: I mean damn, my Subie barely cranked over the other day when I was heading home from work! I love winter, but the last week has been ridiculous. I'm ready for above-freezing temps again.

    Well

Put a battery charger on it for awhile first, that probably would have helped mine because the clock and the security alarm all drain the battery as it sits and then I picked a really cold day to try it.
