Sorry, need to vent. Drove to Michigan to see a friend....didn't end up seeing them. 1400 miles for nothing. On my drive home the car in front of me had a bike rack holding two bikes. One fell off while we were going 80. Fortunately it hopped over to the center so I didn't have to swerve much. Driving through wisconsin I sped up to get out of the slow lane before I got boxed in behind a semi. Coasted over the hill to see a cop who pulled me over going 81 in a 65. $200 fine. And to finish the perfect weekend off I went down to my 10 year reunion last night. Had a few beers early. Quit drinking about 11 and decided to leave back home around 3:30. Didn't realize how tired I was until I fell asleep at the wheel in between Belle Plaine and Jordan and drove right into the ditch. Someone called the cops who pulled me over just south of Jordan. They cuffed me and tossed me in the cop car and brought me to St. Francis Hospital to draw blood to check my BAC. Spent the rest of the night and early morning locked up at Scott County Jail. And now I get to wait for the results to see if I get a DWI or just a Careless Driving. I figured after nearly 5 hours of not drinking and only drinking beer I was fine but we will see what happens. And yes, I realize it was my own stupidity that brought upon the speeding ticket and night in jail. I could have killed someone or myself and for that I deserve what I get. I just needed to vent and figured I would share my story so others may learn before they get into this situation.
Oh, and to top it off they towed my car to Belle Plaine and by the time I got out they had closed for the day so I can't get my car until tomorrow. And I bet it wasn't cheap for towing. Hopefully they didn't break anything.
