http://www.autoblog.com/2007/01/08/detroit-auto-show-lexus-lf-a-take-two/ would make a nice supra... 2008 should be interesting i say...
I wish they would make another supra, but Toyota has continuously said that they have no plans on making one anytime soon. Instead going the route of making Lexus supercars like this one. You think they would since Nissan is bringing the Skyline over!
Yeah, but the Skyline will be a big bucks car at the same price level as a Corvette, if not more. There's isn't a huge market for cars like that. For instance, compare WRX sales with STi and Evo sales. A lot of us that are interested don't have deep pockets.
Ya I have seen quite a few of those for sale. They still never sell for anything close to what a Supra sells for though.
There's rumor that the GT-R will cost around 80k. Nissan has separated the two marques now, so it's no longer a Skyline, it's just a GT-R, the Skyline is the G35 coupe/sedan in the Infinity line. When you buy a GT-R in 08, it will be a Nissan GT-R.
That's what a Viper costs! That GT-R will need over 500 hp to compete... What I really hate is how they keep pushing up the price on the Evo. If the X has all the electronic gadgets, expect it to cost close to 40k. Wow, Mitsu is doing a great job of pricing themselves out of the market.
If they throw twin turbo's on the VQ35 engine...it will most likely be running in the neighborhood of 500hp. I don't have the coin to buy one, but certainly would if I could over anything else in that price range.
Supposedly, from what I've heard, Mitsubishi is trying to compete with the M3 not the STi anymore. They are trying to push the car into another class altogether. And the GT-R is supposed to be near 500hp if I remember correctly. TT V6 and all the gadgetry you'd come to expect from a car with a GT-R badge. And remember, the GT-R has always been built to be an agile track car. The suspension, brakes, electronics and, well, the whole car has always been setup to compete in racing. I don't think Nissan plans to disappoint on this one, especially on the first GT-R available to the entire world market. This is their flagship sports car.
Compete with the M3? I don't know how it works to have one upmarket car when the rest of the line isn't that great. Sounds like Mitsu doesn't know what they want. I actually drove the road over the weekend and saw the local Mitsu dealership had closed. The other one I drive past has shut down one of their showrooms. Mitsu is really going down the tubes fast. As for the GT-R, I always thought of the Skyline as a Corvette competitor. Now that it has moved upmarket to 911 and Viper levels, I won't be able to afford one anytime soon.
i agree with the decline of mitsu.....its sad to see, a company that made cool cars like the galant vr4 (non ugly huge new one, the old schooler)
Nothing about the engine is really out yet, but from everything that has been published it is suppose to be in the ballpark of 500hp. Also it is suppose to be around 70k, not that is matters as I will never be able to afford one.
