I know a couple of you guys own a legacy GT. Has anyone done and spring installation? I'm doing KimmiGTs shortly and want to know if there's any quirks with job. I suspect it will be straight forward, but want to make sure I'm prepared. I'm installing H techs
Check legacygt.com for more info on those. From what I've heard there isn't anything special about the GT as long as you're installing the right parts on the right trim (wagon or sedan).
Hmmm....let me know how this goes. I might want to throw a set on our LGT sometime down the road. Maybe I can even help?
I will. Sounds like the only issue many people have encountered is the rear bottom bolt.....shouldn't any issue with air tools and a breaker bar
The installation went good. the only issue was figuring out the rear bolt. The drivers side rear bolt I used my torque wrench and stood on it...the bolt came free with ease. the passenger side rear bolt I used my torque wrench and placed a jack under it to give it the force needed to crack free. Once I figured out those tricks the install was easy. front was typical. (except forgetting to install the boot and having to take the spring off again to ut it on.):ugh: Now kimmiGT has a solid ride...oh so much better that stock!
^^^^^LOL.. yeah yeah yeah.....I'll tell her to get them asap. They were H techs so the drop wasn't massive, about 1 inch. But it's getting sexier as we go....trying like heck to get her to buy the exhaust for stage 2, then that car will scream.
I'm in love with my car This was absolutely the best mod I've done so far. The ride is much stiffer, and the handling is awesome. I'm for sure gonna get into trouble with this thing now. I just know it. Plus the fact that I really had fun helping. I totally get why you guys are always in the garage. If I could afford it, I would be too! I took the exit ramp from 35W onto 694 W on Sunday night at a pretty high speed, rounded the corner and scared the crap out of myself. What a difference! I'm working on some pics ~ just need to figure out how to resize them from my digital camera so I can actually post them. All I know is if it is possible to have a love affair with you car ~ then I'm doing it; cause I love it.
Here's the pics...quality isn't there so we'll have to get it out on a better day for a photo shoot. top is before, below is after
What do you think ~ here is my attempt at the 12 Step Subaru Mod program. 1. I’ve admitted I am powerless over my addiction ~ mods, mods and more mods 2. I’ve come to believe that a Power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity ~ Absolutely and that would be Stage 2 3. I’ve made a decision to turn my will and my life over to the care of God ~ I pray every night I will make one more placement every day so my commission check will support my habit 4. I’ve made a searching and fearless moral inventory of myself ~ Can’t really find any immoral about this 5. I’ve admitted to God, to myself and to another human being the exact nature of our wrongs ~ I can not stop this habit and I want more MODS 6. I am entirely ready to have God remove all these defects of character ~ the only defects needing removed are the ones I continue to retain in my parking deck at work 7. I’ve humbly asked God remove my shortcomings ~ or better yet my shortage of cash for more MODS 8. I’ve made a list of all persons I have harmed, and became willing to make amends to them all ~ The only person on such list would be my Ex-Husband and I’m not making amends to him so tough Sh*t. 9. I’ve made direct amends to such people wherever possible, except when to do so would injure them or others ~ See above answer 10. I continue to take personal inventory and when I am wrong promptly admitted it ~ So far I don’t think I have been wrong about anything involving my car. Actually it is one of the best decisions I’ve made in the past year 11. I seek through prayer and meditation to improve my conscious contact with God as we understood God, praying only for knowledge of God's will for us and the power to carry that out ~ As I have stated before I pray every night that he will help my financially with this process 12. Having had a spiritual awakening as the result of these steps, I try to carry this message to other addicts, and to practice these principles in all our affairs ~ I carry the banner to all other Subaruians to please continue to Mod and post your accomplishments for those of us who want to learn more and appreciate a great ride! Just kidding Bikerboy ~ my attempt at being funny:laugh:
