I got a few question and see what you guys think about different options. Right now i have BC racing inverted coilovers installed on my car. Aside from one if the rear shocks needing replacement everything is nice. They are a little bouncy on the hwy but i bet they just need a little more adjustment. I know that coilovers will never be as comfy as the stock struts, so my other option is to put my stock struts back on and cut the front springs a little to lower the car. I know this is kinda chippo way to do this, but why not? Another option could be get prodrive springs and stock struts. Last option could be get kyb agx and prodrive springs. Or just get lower spring rate springs for bc's and call it a day. One thing, i dont race and not planning on racing at all. I dont want to have a ton of body roll and wheel gap. let me know what you guys think.
honestly, if you are that concerned with it, get some cheap tein springs or something, drop it down and get a better sway bar to knock down a bit of body roll... you dont sound like a very ideal situation for coilovers to be honest
I would say, NEVER cut your springs... bad idea Get some cheapo off-brand lowering springs from ebay.... there's a yellow cheapo set on Ebay for about $70'ish
Get softer springs, and some helper springs. it'll pretty much negate the reason of having race oriented shocks, but it would make the ride more comfortable.
Good idea on the first one. Lousy idea on the second one. Aren't you complaining about generic springs on Ebay anyway? Taras, follow Shanes advice. Get some softer springs and take advantage of the better damping the BCs will give you.
you dont plan or racing at all... and you have coilovers. Why don't I just walk around in a wrestling singlet and tell people I don't plan on ever wrestling.
hahahhha you have to do what I do to NEED coilovers. But AGX and Prodrive springs PLUS 24mm-or-bigger sways all around would do you good.
well, i did not like how bouncy my teins are sometimes on the hwy so i got bc's thinking that if they have damping adjustment they will be less bouncy. Will bc's be nicer with 5k springs? What i am asking does anyone here have bc's with 5k springs? And i would like to ride in an impreza with agx's and prodrives.
I have AGX + prodrives in my car (With group N tops, whiteline swaybars and endlinks) you've ridden in that when sheen was driving it an an autox, the handling is good enough for decent drivers to win with.
I did mine.. over 2 yrs ago... still running original struts and springs... almost 70K with probably a good 20K of that on bumpy country roads (dirt) ask Taras took over some the other night... (I know ghetto but hey sure beats the wheelstand front end look)
Because people think coilovers = teh cool. Get a softer spring rate like already mentioned. There's plenty of quality setups out there (RCE T2s for example) that allow you to run a relatively soft spring rate yet still are night and day better the struts. Sounds like you're all street so I'd skip this. Don't cut your springs. All you are doing is taking away that much more travel. If you weren't already riding on your bump stops you will be.
Perfect i need a ride in your car again on just regular road with bumps. Do agx's feel stiffer and bouncier than stock?
yes, lots of good practice!!! I just did my fuel rail hose tonight. muahahah and plugged my knock sensor so now the car runs awesome! lolz needs a tune though for this snail I have
