The DOHC is almost twice as much $ used as the SOHC.

Has anyone seen this swap done?
    Where?

    Thanx,

Wait, why are you trying to do this Todd? The old SOHC blocks were tougher. Or at least mine was.

I'm talking about a newer 2.5 SOHC in place for a 2.5 DOHC.

See, I have this 98 Outback wagon that needs an engine.
    The DOHC's go for $2K.
    The SOHC's sell for ~$1.2K.

I've got more time than money to invest in this project.

    Any other motor sugestions?

    JDM something?

It has a auto trans right now.

    Motor and Trans swap??

jdm front clips run for about 4-6k depending from where.

could put in an ej22t i have seen those WORKING with low miles for like 700.

depends if you want a fast wagon or a JDM REALLY fast wagon.

Well, the wife says the GT is too slow...

So making this one quicker is a good thing. . ;)

i thought you were gonna swap a sohc for a dohc...would be the worst idea evar! phaze 2 2.5 sohc is worlds better then the dualy, even if they have the same HP

all depends on how much you wanna spend. but IMO a JDM wrx outback would be one of the coolest cars on teh road! (not to mention one of the fastest wagons on the road)

If I just wanted a little bit more power I'd just get an AVO turbokit and have it at that. More than that I'd want to have a turbo motor.
