So what's the point of this mod? Get lower intake temperatures? For some reason it doesn't sound like it'll do much for power. By eliminating it won't you have more of a chance of the throttle plate sticking, especially in Minn?

the motor still gets warm, so the throttle won't stick. The motor will still run at 180+ degrees, so the throttle will be fine. What you are doing is allowing the tb to run a bit cooler without having the hgot water running through it.

Correct! Coolant is not cool temperature-wise. It's very hot.

For the record, I've had my throttle body bypass mod on my car for the past 3 winters. Not one case where it came close to sticking open. Then again, I don't suck water into my throttle body often either. :p

When you did the mod did you feel and increase in power? It just sounds to me like it wouldn't do much.

No, I didn't feel an increase... but the TB bypass in addition to my phenolic spacers sure as hell kept the intake manifold from being hot. It only stays warm now, so the cold air won't travel through a long, hot tube before combustion. If the phenolic spacers aren't used, the intake manifold will eventually get hot, but not as quick because it's in contact with the hot motor.

okay so i did the mod...BUT, now when i rev it up, my temp gauge plummits about 40 degrees and comes back up (sunpro temp gauge) but my intake manifold is ice cold now! and it runs fantastic, but it takes a tad longer to warm up, but i can deal with things like that
