The 2nd Land O' Lakes RallyCross event for 2008 will be held Sunday April 27th in Cannon Falls, MN!! The full 2008 Land O' Lakes RallyCross Schedule is posted on http://www.scca-lol.org/rally/rallyx/schedule.php We will be going back to the field we used in March (the second Cannon Falls site). The course is about ¾ of a mile long, with a combination of twisty switchbacks and open sweepers. This venue was a blast last month. As always, we need volunteers for course setup and timing & scoring. All competitors MUST work the course, when they are not running, and help with course take down. Directions from HWY 52: Drive south out of Cannon Falls and take a right on County Rd 14. Follow County 14 approximately 4 miles and go straight through the 4-way stop sign at County Rd 9. Continue another 1.5 miles and take a right after the barn on the right. There will be the Rally-X sign at the entrance. Follow this road back into the woods approximately 0.5 miles and then take a left into the field. We will be paddocking to the left again (the other end of the field still has standing water). For those with trailers, we will have to do the same as last time. But you can follow the road back to the 90 degree left after the creek and back up to turn around. There is a pocket to do this on the right side of the road. Then drive back up the entrance road and park the trailers as far to the right as possible to allow traffic to drive past it and then unload your car and drive it back. Does anyone still run the Secion8 Cup at these anymore? If not, I'll explain. You guys would love it.
Bummer... Will someone ask Mark Utecht, I think he still has the cup. It's a lovely trophy. I came up with this a LONG time ago, and even brought it some stage rallies. Everyone who wanted to enter the "Section 8 cup competition" threw in five bucks, and picked a number between 0 and 9. This number was chosen before the race and documented by the competator in writing. The even took place, and whoever had the time ending with their number the most took the pot. The LAST number in your time was the one you were shooting for. For instance: I choose the number 4 1st run: 1:02.07 2nd run: 58.44 <-----1 point 3rd run: 1:01.11 4th run: 50:04 <-----1 point 5th run: 51:30 _____________________________ This competator would get 2 points. I figured it would be cool if some lucky, random competator got their event paid for and maybe even their gas or something. I got sick of people asking me "What do you get if you win?" It takes a little orginizaiton on the front side, but people were usually more interested in who won the cup than who won the actual event. HA HA. I Found a pic of the cup on my computer! I think the board has signatures and dates all over it now.

You can run winters, thats what I was told to run. Then again I think you should make it more interesting run the RE070's!
I just pre-registered with my Legacy. Should be fun, this'll be my first time running winters at one of these.

It is a new policy for this year that part of your entry fee is providing your own FRS. In the past too many radios were loaned out and not returned. They are very inexpensive and very important that everyone at the event have one. Remember to bring fresh batteries also.
I might be interested in meeting up before if other are also. I am looking to take some pics, so I will probably be rolling down to do that. Russ

Race whatever is running! Dude, remember the minvan and the Suzuki econo box? It's about having fun and dodging cones. I have to swap a front axle before the weekend. I think I did the #1 no no in rally cross at the last event, stomping gas with wheel turned tight. Now I got a crunchy CV. Should be able to get it taken care of in time. Amy
I know where the walmart is, but if there is only going to be 2 of us showing up there is no point. I can get down there a different direction that would be just as quick for me without having to meet up and since I don't plan on running, I don't need to leave as early. But if we get a handfull of people that want to meet up, I will make the drive over to meet up with everyone. Russ
Nothing is running Amy...that's the problem. Other than my motorcycle. I would never-ever-ever rallyx my roomates cougar. His tranny is definitely on it's last leg! And I'm not paying for his tranny too.

As far as FRS radios go. They're cheap, but if you really don't want to buy one, I have 4 which I will rent out for the day. $5. Josh, if you contact the address you paypal'd to (I forget it, but I'm 99% sure it goes to Mr Mayhem83 anyhow), you can either get a refund minus some amount to cover the paypal fees and mailing you the refund, or you can have the amount credited towards a rallycross later in the season.
I really want to go but I have to double check my schedule. I also need to pick some horrid color to paint my rallyx wheels. If I go, I'll have three frs radios, so two that I can loan out to mnsubaru people. Just a dumb question, how do you join the LOL SCCA? Never been to an event like this. Sounds better than the 1320 at rockfalls on the same day. Any pics of this event from previous years? I would like to see the course
