If anyones interested here are pictures from the Cannon falls Tax Break Rallycross yesterday. It was my first event, had tons of fun even if i wasn't competitive. There was another person with club stickers there in a silver WRX who did very well, didnt get a chance to say hey. Ill have a few videos to post soon too.
What do you have done to it, by the way? Or is that top secret information? Edit: Also, if any of the slower members of this forum are interested (please do not come if you are quick, it makes it harder for me to place well, thank you) The next Rallycross is in Arkansaw, WI (About 1.5-2 hours southeast of the cities) on Sunday, May 20th. You too can be beaten into submission by a fat old guy in a ratty gc-8.
Not secret, just simple. It is a 99 2.5RS, gutted with a HEAVY roll cage built to stage rally specs. The engine, trans and diffs are bone stock with a prefilter in place of the intake silencer box. For exhaust we use a stock y pipe and resonator with the cat removed. Open diffs front and rear (planning to change that). Impreza L front brakes (allows 14" wheels) and a 20 mm WRX rear sway bar. The biggest change is Hot Bits struts and springs all around. As those that were at the event can attest, we also removed the bumpers and front lights for weight reduction for RallyCross. Those go back on for ice racing.
^ lol I will have to think about the may 20th one. i hav never rally-xed before and so i wouldnt feel bad getin baten by a ratty gc8 ;-)
Yeah, it's fun to watch, but it's a lot more fun to drive. Glad to see some of you guys come out! Need to locate some 14" rally tires for the SE-R!
hahaha...he was worried enough on the snow in the "near empty" parking lotz! That's what you get for that "ditch" comment earlier...hehehe
