First off, apologies that this post is a little late in timing. I know you are all eager to go play in the mud, and I am too! I had been wanting to hold off on posting details about the event until we got everything firmed up, and it turns out there have been some changes. Sadly, the owner of the Pease site where we had planned to host the rallyX school and rallyX at the end of the month passed away on the 31st. Because of this, we are in the process of trying to secure a different location. (Cannon Falls) As soon as I hear more details, I promise you will see a more detailed post outlining all the normal details: caravan, food, etc. What this means is that if we have the rallyX school on Saturday, we will not have an indoor location for the classroom portion of the training. Please respond to this poll with whether you would still be interested in attending the school. If enough people are interested, we will try our best to pull it off. Otherwise, we will be pushing the date back later in the year until we can secure an indoor venue. I suppose this should go without saying, but please do not post in the poll if you were never planning on attending regardless!
I'm interest, just have to make sure my odd work schedule doesn't conflick with the date. And because this is a training day will SCCA membership and fee's still apply?
i have the weekend blocked off in my schedule regardless of where it is at. now if it gets pushed I would have to check. Also when I signed up at the beginning of the week on the SCCA LOL section there was only one other person signed up
Alexis, Thanks for the update. I really liked that guy, he was so friendly! Too bad I never got to really sit down and talk with him :emo: A couple things.... 1. MNSOC will have the small tent there and the weather shoul be warm enough so people don't freeze. 2. The last Rally-X school in December was damn cold, rainy, and snowy. Yet most of the attendees still managed to stay outside 90% of the time. So this shouldn't be too big of a deal that we don't have indoor facilites.
I dont think we are gonna have to worry about anyone freezing... weather has been staying up close to 50 pretty consistently for the past week and looks like its only warming for the next week. 10 day forecast shows highs in the upper 50s and a whole lot of sun. I think we just need to watch out for rain.
The forecast for that weekend has an average high of 60 and low of 40, with a record high of 83 and a record low of 34 so the weather will hopefully be nice either way. I know how tough this is for everyone to plan and so I will post as soon as I get a confirmation on the site and a decision about the school. Thanks for your patience everyone!! Also, George's obituary: http://millelacscountytimes.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=1800&Itemid=40
Alexis, I sent you a pm about the site and sanction. We can use the Cannon Falls site. I'll be there either way.
I did, as I was the primary contact person for that site, and I stopped up there a few times and sat at George's table chatting for a couple hours each time. He was a character, an absolutely unique person, and I'll miss him. Ask those of us who didn't get to sit in nice warm cars...
I will attend either way. I would really like to have the school before the next event just for the fact that I have never rallycrossed before and have yet to even drive my car more than loading and unloading from the trailer. If people are not going to attend due to it being outside, is it an option to have an indoor session at one location and then move to another location part way through the day?
I received an email from the land owner today saying that he has a 24' x 24' garage with power that we can use for classroom purposes. So we would have a covered area out of the elements for the classroom. Alexis, please get in touch with me asap. I sent you a pm and haven't heard from you. I need to get some info from you. Thanks, Erik D
