Hello, I purchased a 2002 WRX turbo, and am going to install it on my Ford Focus. I'm curious to know what the coolant inlet/outlet sizes are and what the oil inlet size is. I'm ordering the kits today, and I already have the 38mm oil outlet flange. I've searched up and down google and the rest of the Internet, now I'm hoping to get answers from the people that run these turbos thank you in advance.
well, the coolant in/out are the same size on the turbo, and the oil inlet is smaller than the coolant size. The oil in and coolant in/out typically have BANJO connections as far as I've known. Can anybody find the BANJO bolt/thread sizes, this is all I need so I can fab up something to work. I believe they are metric.
coolant lines attach using a banjo fitting, the turbo should come with tthese fitting attachced. the pipe on them take 1/2" hose the oil inlet is a banjo fitting i dont know what size, the outlet takes 5/8" hose.
The coolant lines banjo bolts are M12x1.25 just measured them. I cant find banjo for oil in I think it is 1/4npt but don't quote me on that. I will try and look again to find one and measure it.
coolants are 12x1.25 and oil is 10x1.5... found these by testing plus in my turbo today... IR gettin' rid of banjo.... and doin' other route for slightly more cooling and oil flow... I have some output... will use oil restrictor to limit flow as needed... thanks for help, I'll post pics and dyno when done so subi folks can know what foci can do with same turbo =) excited to know what my engine can do... and 2300lbs for a car can't hurt
If all else fails, talk to BP Subaru or Minnetonka Subaru and have their parts dept. order yourself a few of the oil gaskets and all necessary parts for the TD04 for 20% off.
9.6:1, people have boosted up to 15psi safely on stock engine, I'll be doing 10psi for 220fwhp/230fwtq
