alright who's got some techno beats out there. i got some good stuff but i need more. and none of this dance/abercrombie techno either. just straight up beats. list some of the songs if you got them.
its not considered "techno". Techno was an 80s music scene. please refer to it as Trance or Rave. I have plenty; check out DJ tiesto, Armin Van Buuren, Paul Van Dyk, Paul Oakenfold.
ritchie hawtin aka plastikman (acid house-euro house/techno, hardline ambient minimalism... an all arround genius) neil landstrum (evil incarnate, do not listen to this if you are messed up) kevin saunderson (more jungly tranceish but its done very well...) luke slater (get wireless, it's amazing)
    So are you trying to tell me that Ritchie Hawtin, ESP Woodie McBride, Frankie Bones, etc are all trance or "rave" artists? lol. You are the one who needs to look a few things up, young Jedi.
What now. Read it and weap, now i gave some factual evidence that proves my point and makes your points null. [/b]
Yeah, that doesn't really help your argument. Sure, it explains some of the early roots of techno (yet fails to even mention Kraftwerk  ), but to say that techno is no longer around is retarded. That's like saying house music died in the '80s also. Frankie Bones (aka the godfather of hard techno) would kick your ass if you ever called him a trance dj. <--- has been a hardcore/breakcore/raggajungle dj for nearly 10 years now.
i never said that it died. i merely stated that 99% if people generalize techno as any type of electronic music, which is entirely incorrect. 99% of the time people are looking for trance, and still insist on calling it techno. but i do agree it is still around, but its height was in the '80s.
Music dorks are the best kind of dorks in my opinion. Their arguments are so trite and pointless, but so full of emotion. Here's some fuel for the fire, not that I care, just stirring sh!t: Bad boy bill is techno. Ok, now go...entertain me with more sub-genre labelling...
lollerskates. Bad Boy Bill is one of the only house djs with skill. Ray Charles could match his socks better than 99% of house djs attempting to match beats.
Agreed. I actually like BadBoyBill Bangin the Box vol. 3. It was decent driving house music. But I just thought it'd be funny to call it techno. It's awesome how the whole CD flows together. THe beat never stops and it never jumps...it feels like every track blends into the next smoothly.
just like all the car dorks I know. its the pot calling the kettle black in this case. So your car is the same as a corolla right? 4 cylinders... compact... 4 doors.... steering wheel... But then again, I'm sure whatever arguments you may come up with for something about which you may care but others may not could also be tossed off as "trite" and "pointless"
You obviously need to get out more....90% I would buy, but not 99%! I spent quite a few nights down at Vibe in Gainesville, FL listening to many of the best house djs and they know how it's done! (My buddy bought the place, we helped open it and then whenever I was in FL on work, I would have VIP treatment which included full access to the dj booth, free drinks and access to anywhere including behind the bar! ) Paolo Mojo, Murk (Oscar G is the sh#*!), James Zabiela (absolute insanity!), Dave Preston, Phil K (one of my favorites), Steve Porter, PQM, etc... I can't even remember all of the insane shows I saw there.... ...not to mention the recent show at the Quest with Habersham and Preston...they had 4 CDJs and 2 mixers, with at least 2 running all the time and many times they were layering 4 different tracks! Everyone has their opinion on what they like, but saying 99% of house djs can't mix is just jumping on the hater bandwagon!
since I learned to mix on 200bpm hardcore/gabber, I was pretty amazed at how much easier it was to mix house. Not dissing BBB etc, those guys take it to another level.
at the time i posted my first post, only 2 artist were spoken of, Darude and DJ quicksilver, both of which are trance. which is why the statement was made, someone asked for "techno", and people responded with Trance artists.
Yes, but there are a ton of DnB and Trance and [insert genre here] that suck as well, just singling out house is jumping on the bandwagon, period.
