Flatline Performance is working on an endurance race at Prokart indoors. The race is tentative, because well they won't give me a set date until I have 8 teams ready to sign up and race . Which is kind of stupid but oh well. The details are Prokart indoors Maple Grove, MN http://prokartindoors.com/ 200 laps endurance race. 2 person teams. $50 Per person We run 100 laps with a driver change within those 100 Laps. Then we invert the drivers (fastest goes to the back, slowest up front) and run another 100 laps with another driver change. This will more than likely just be the indoor coarse (roughly 20secs lap times) I Have 5 Teams already ready and willing to go. This is more than likely be held on a saturday or sunday MORNING. Expect to spend a couple hours there (they told me about 45 mins/100laps) If this is a success I will be working with them to do this more often! Especially since we are only looking for 3-4 more teams right now ready to go. There is no where, where you will get more in-car seat time for your money, without buying a car! If you have a teammate and READY to go, please PM ME ASAP. I will update this as soon as I have 3-4 teams interested. Thanks Ryan@ FLP
Ryan, I really appreciate your efforts in attempting to put this together. From my last experience at that facility their karts are falling apart, but that might have changed. I use to go there at least once a week a few years ago. So for safety and other personal reason's I've never gone back. I would be open to participating in an event at the Cokato facility sometime in the summer pending the date doesn't conflict with work. Many thanks, Cheech
Musahi is right, their karts are pretty junky now. How about Prokart in Burnsville? They do a bunch of leagues.
I understand what you guys are saying, I happen to go to maple grove every week. But its really not about the karts, or winning, just trying to get a get together other than standing in a parking lot. It is what it is, I would love if you came out and had some fun with us!
What date are you thinking for this? I was there last week with 6 of my colleagues for my birthday and we had a blast (although passing is just about impossible) less a few corners. Didn't notice any major issues with the karts. $50 normally gets you around 75 laps (3 races) so the only issue I have is that I'm getting only 2/3 of what I'd get by myself or with a few friends for the same $$$. On as side note, has anyone ever been to Stockholm Karting Center west of Lake Minnetonka? It's the most amazing karting I've ever done... http://www.stockholmkartingcenter.com/
I think you miss understood. The offer above is 100 laps for $50 (200 laps total for team of 2). That's 25% more laps than what you just did....
this is correct... there are essentially two 100 lap races using two drivers... each driver gets 100 laps total.
Ah, well in that case "sweet!". Do we at least know if this would be a weekend or evening? And how much advanced notice would we have for the date? Thanks.
Just talked to a work buddy of mine. We'd be in if the date's work out. Kicker on our end is that he's out of town from tomorrow through the 7th of March so if you're planning to have it happen before then I'll need to find another driver.
It will most likely be a saturday or sunday morning... ryan has been doing the talking with the guys at Prokart and i think we will be coming up with a date here soon.
I am working with them. 90% of the people already in work M-F during the day. SO it will definitely be on a weekend, more than likely in the morning. I will be calling Mike @ Prokart tomorrow, as I have 7 teams interested but everyone wants a date. So update will be coming soon! I promise
I would be very interested in this, if it was not the Maple Grove location. My last visit last August was very disappointing, with the condition of the karts. I currently run in a Burnsville Prokart league and the course has 3-4 setups that can be chosen for the race, and the karts are in much better condition.
I'm sorry you feel that way, like I said, I really have no say on this. Each Prokart is owned by different people and I already have someone I'm working with at Maple Grove. I have been to both places and I do understand that Burnsville Karts are much nicer, but I have NEVER been disappointed and always have fun when I go to Maple Grove.
