So, as my priorities are shifting towards a house, the cobra may be gone after owning it for 1 year. My buddy, who is buying a house with me also decided he wants a new car too. He had no idea what to look for. I was already looking at new GTI's, Altima coupes, and of course what Subaru has in store around the same price point on a lease. He saw the GTi i was looking at decided he wanted to look into one too. So we drove down to the VW stealership in Maplewood and each test drove the a GTI with the DSG 6-speed tranny. The tranny is sweet with the paddle shifters. I'm still not quite sold on it, but I can definately see the advantages as a daily driver or if you need sober drivers often . The interior is pretty rad as well, has satellite radio and a cool gauge cluster. Performance wise, it wasn't a rocket, but wasn't slow. Its all relative and really hard to compare when I daily drive a car that has almost 500 WHP. My buddy, who has an older car to trade was ready to pull the trigger that night after only test driving 2 cars, the GTi and an Volvo S40. He even got the color I wanted if I were to get one . Wasn't quite happy about that since he didn't even know what a GTI was 3 days ago and didn't even like the grey until I commented that I wanted it. I think it'd be somewhat bi-curious if 2 guys living in the same house had the same car and color. Next I'm going to see what Subaru can do for a lease on something comparable with power and features. Who knows, I could own a subaru again.
VW makes a nice car, dont listen to 3rik! My family has had Audi's and VW's forever now and never had any major problems with any of them.
The reliably start on fire. (or so they say) The lease should include one of these... http://www.simpsonraceproducts.com/products/firesuit_std_suits.aspx
I worked with audi for a year... they are costly car for upkeep... They either are good forever or fail everytime.
There has been so many, some over 15 years! I dont see the what the big problem with them is besides there heavy and slow
kind of, I just asked if that was a chick car and opions on it. This is more of a road test and other's opinions.
Hahaha....first you are looking at an Audi TT, total girl car. Then you take another guy, probably all dolled up and dressed to impress, to a VW dealership. You are on the edge man. Just a step away from the line. Cross that line, and there's no going back.
yup, once you get rid of the cobra you might as well come all the way out of the closet! the cobra is the last part of man remaining in you. (ewww man in you!)
