Well its finally time. I have got the money accumulating and am starting my research but got a couple of questions for guys around here that have bigger turbos, especially the 16g, 18g, and variations of the aforementioned. I have nararowed it down to either the MONSTER TD05H-16G or the Zilla TD05h-18G. Both of the models would be oil and water cooled because I figure that to be the best route (cooler the better right?). Obviously the 18G is gonna give me more horsepower but I question if that is what I really want. From people around here and those who have them and from those who have ridden in both or been at the dyno day, is there a noticeable difference between the two? Should I just wait and get the 18G instead of getting the monster 16G because I have the money right now? Next are injectors. I am looking at modified injectors, matt you think you can still help me out or should I buy aftermarket? lastly is the intercooler. I am jus thinking about picking up a bigger top mount seeing as how I dont really track or autoX my car. I think thats what I wanna do but I just wanna know what people around here think of it. You all have these parts and have experienced them, what did you like, dislike, suggest me doing or not doing? Any help or advice will be read and thought about. Please remember that I have a 2003 4eat that I am working with, not a 5 or 6 speed.

CN: 16g or 18g? Modified or Aftermarket injectors? STI top mount or JDM top mount? Am I missing anything?

    Already have:
    3" TBE
    UpPipe
    Coiovers
    Defi Gauges
    Sway Bars
    TC Mod
    Cobb AP

My only other idea would be to hold off on this and just clean up my engine bay a bit. Get all silicone houses, oil cooler, little things like that. One last option would be for me to get a Valve Body Job done so that my car will have quicker shifts. Sorry for the long post but I have just thinking about this so much lately in my own head I needed to let it out and get opinions from other people. Any thing will help me make up my mind I hope. Also hope I made it somewhat clear for you guys to understand.

STI topmount will be a waste of money and not nearly big enough. Get something really beefy or go with a FMIC.

Jorge and/or Russ will be the best people to consult on the rest...both have the 4EAT, bigger turbos, experience with modified injectors, and experience with 4EAT upgrades/modifications.

I think you'll definitely need bigger injectors and fuel pump. PE 850 and Walbro 255 seem to be pretty popular for the STi. I'm not sure, but your Subie might need different injectors. I know mine are side feed.

This place seems pretty cool in turbo selections, plus they pug "Monster Port(TM) Black Xtreme(TM) coating on turbine housing, and Grey ceramic on compressor housings" plus a lifetime warranty.

I was looking at the SuperZilla myself...

I say go with the 20g as that's what I have on my eclipse, and I don't mind turbo lag one bit.. Better gas milage since you're always off-boost in the streets(unless you want to be.) You HAVE to go with a FMIC, top mounts are just a waste of time IMO, for just as much you could be getting 50*+ cooler temps. And it's not helping any that it's sitting right on top of a hot engine.

I'm not all that laggy though. 3100 rpms with 175lb/ft torque. But this is a VF34, not an 18G. I bet you could shift my powerband to the right about 1000rpms with the 18g

Shoot me a pm. I have the auto and a 18g with modded injectors and a larger tmic (txs v2). I am also in the process of protuning my ap, so I basically have 1 version of the setup you are looking for. I guess it is a matter of how much lag you want to live with. I would totally skip the 16g and think either 18 or 20. You have the tc, so you will get a fairly quick spool. I will have to give ya a ride in my car before I park it for the winter.
