    To follow up on the thread I posted a long time ago featuring the guts of the boxer diesel motor, I found this. I don't think it has been posted yet. It explains some of the trials and tribulations of the project. They started it in '99 :eek3:

    What is particularly interesting is the elimination of the access plugs to get at the piston pins. The piston and rod are inserted together and the cap is then bolted on.


    I'm guessing that with a symmetrical connecting rod, that is not possible. No highly built gas engines off of that platform, unfortunately.

    that thing makes me happy in the pants i bet you could get so much torque out of it!

    Too bad we here in the us wont see a boxter diesel for a while.

    could always maybe import it maybe? not sure how that would go :D that would make for an interesting build......

    that's a nice find, it would make for an interesting modding and how well the gas mileage will be
