Well....for those of you who didn't hear....the chuxwagon's motor seized at the ice race...it'll be towed back to my parent's place sometime this week (hopefully) where it'll rest until summer break when I can spend a few weeks working hard on it.

Until then....may the Chuxwagon Rest In Peace....

I'm sorry to hear of the loss. Do you know exactly why it seized?

i too am saddened by the demise of the chuxwagon. nearest we can figure is that during some intense racing the engine got deprived of oil. prolly cause the oil level was a little low, and the hard cornering would move the oil around alot in the oilpan making it difficult to kep a constant pressure.

    oil starve......hehe....duh right??

few thoughts, I knew I was about a quart low, and I added almost two (just to be safe....it leaks anyway) before we went back out, so that didn't help, but shouldn't have CAUSED the problem....

my oil gauge and/or sender is non-functional so I might have lost pressure and not known it

a PCV hose had cracked/come off....so a piece of mud (common under my hood at any time of year) may have gotten in there and blocked off an oil passage somewhere

and I'd been running the circle track for quite awhile the same way at rather high speeds (it took quite a bit to drift with those tires...) the same way, so the oil may not have been circulating very well....

    or any combination thereof.......

plans....hmmm....where to start......The Chuxwagon will be getting the rebuilt EJ22 out of my mom's legacy when she decides she doesn't want to keep putting money into a 230k mile car....hopefully this summer

the POSUV ('92 loyale, FWD 3AT) will be getting a 'new' tranny (5MT DR FT4WD) and rebuilt motor to become my daily driver

depending on when the EJ becomes available, will be the deciding factor as to which order it will be done
